300 is a nice car, trading a 370 for a 300 is just silly

Not really as the 300zx TT is a timeless design and will kill a 370z in power and looks.

LOL.... All true Z Owners that I have met, agree the Z32 is the best looking Z that has been out other than the original 240z.

I don't think I could possibly roll my eyes harder. Seriously though, the Z32 is the most unique in the sense that it doesn't look anything like the 240. It's a pretty good looking car, but the side profile isn't unique for cars made at the time. It looks like a late 80s early 90s car -- because it is. I think it looks better than the 350, in my opinion, but not the 240, 280 or the 370. Also -- to the OP, consider that you are probably going to be paying 16-20k for an unmolested, good condition 300ZX that hasn't been molested/riced/etc. Also you're probably going to want to touch the brakes and suspension to put them up to current standards. You'd still be out ahead, but probably less than you imagine. |

Had. The 350Z was a sharp car, especially the NISMO model. But the 370z is nicer. No need to bad mouth a brother to make yourself feel better about your purchase. Your 370z design came from the 350z in a good portion of it's looks. It was just modified to meet a look of the original 240z.

![]() IMO, the 370Z is the best looking, but it's a real close call between it and a 1978 280Z. |

So owning a 370Z doesnt make me a true Z owner? The 370Z is way better looking. But its all personal preference some like the old classic style while some like the new designs.

In 1995 sticker on my TT was $45,000. Quite a bit more than this one 15 years later. It was built to a higher standard. Easily the best car I've ever owned.
As far as maintenance, I had few problems. A water pump which I combined with the 60,000 service and all new belts just as a preventative while they were in there. A broken vacuum line twice and a knock sensor. This was my DD for nearly 15 years, and the 370 in the first 4 months has already had more time in the shop than the 300. I long for my old dependable beauty. T top's too.

The 300zxTT is a great car, but most of them will need basic maintenance done. Unless you get one with records in great condition. Look us Seb from Specialty Z (a forum sponsor) He is the guy to talk to about the 300zx (and the 370z). You can sometimes get a "stage 3", ie 400whp+, 300zx for around or even under $10,000.

However, when buying one be thorough. Maintenance can be pricey. At 20 years old the wiring harness may start to become brittle (mine did) and that requires pulling the motor to change. I am in that process now (I take my time, lol) and the upgrades I am doing, by choice, in this project - turbos, injectors, fuel rails, intercoolers - is running upwards of $4000. The turbos and injectors were both at end of life, I would have had to replace them soon. The result is the car will be fantastic, but I still need a repaint and a new front bumper cover and a few other items to get it completely restored. All that on a car I have owned for 14 years, driven regularly (90,000 miles on car) and kept in a garage. If you buy one I can only imagine the potential maintenance you may have to do. Be diligent! That being said, some people have 300ZXTT's for sale in great condition. Expect to pay at least $16-$20K for one of those. Its BY FAR the best car I have ever owned, and I've had 5 Z's. I say do it!

Looks are completely subjective and most 300zx's are thrashed ghetto POS cars. Just not worth the time and money to search for a clean TT. Would I rock one? Hell yes I would, they're freaking sweet cars but they've taken their toll. |
