So how is everyone pleased with their Z performance wise?

I have Steeda lowers so I'll probably just use them.

The reason they don't do solid bushings is because they need to balance NVH/Comfort and performance. There is A LOT more noise from the rear end with the solid bushings and you feel more of the bumps, so they need to compromise. Which is fine. I'm willing to live with the added suspension noise but I know 80% of the consumer group isn't.

Any car that's sold to the masses will always have to make compromises.

And like I said, the car does really well on the street with the 255s. I only feel like the car is under-tired on the drag strip, but that's more a compound issue than anything else.

I had cheap poly bushings and tubular UCA/LCA on my 5.0 and it was no louder than stock. Maybe that car just made so much noise with the cam and headers, ORX, and Flows that it drowned out the sqeeks, lol.

However, this does lead me to ask...Do you wish it had a properly set-up IRS now

No, I don't wish it had IRS. The live axle is just fine. It handles the street just as well as my Z. Doesn't matter if the road is bumpy.

You can tell me this is impossible but I own the car and drive it every day. It is what it is.

Yeah they are pretty sweet and it's nice that they are forged and light.

I will either do 19x9 all around with a 275 tire or 19x9 front and 19x10 rear.

I would prefer a non staggered setup for the best handling balance, though 19x10 in back would look hot.

Does it step-out on corners? My WS6 would step out about 2" when I would hit a particular curved bridge with an expansion-joint in it. My Infiniti with a "SRA" of sorts w/a Watt's Link does not do so. Have you noticed a difference in these circumstances between the Z and the mustang? How about when flooring it over un-even pavement? Does it not hook as well?

It has to be a REALLY rough road for it to step out, but even the Z stepped out.

IMO the SRA performance on the Mustang is VERY close to the Z's IRS.

But I am tainted for life because I have driven a Cayman S in anger so I compare every suspension to that.

The Z is better in the rain, though. I think it's just because it has less low range torque... it doesn't step out as much.

Shifting pretty aggressively. Not a full-on powershift, but it wasn't leisurely, either. The car just had a well designed suspension (for straight-line) and wide tires. After the tires were worn out, it would catch rubber a bit. Not much, though. Every mustang I raced from a dig would run into problems with me on the 1-2 shift, if not well before. I'm glad I sold it before the new 5.0's came out, although since I was able to stay neck/neck with 2010 SS's, I am curious how it would have compared.
