How does Nissan puts a Turbo....

How does Nissan puts a Turbo on a sportcross the Juke and not on the 370Z? :shakes head:

I hate watching that commercial. WTF?

:iagree: Definitely

I get mad every time I see that commercial...

because the Z32 was the best Z ever made. thus nissan did not want to infringe upon it's greatness.

daisuke149 10-20-2010 09:39 PM

well i think i'll take the vg37 over the jukes engine/turbo :p

Red__Zed 10-20-2010 09:43 PM

I'd rather have a naturally aspirated motor in a 2 seat sports car.

I like the Z32 and had one.

But that is a pretty strong statement for all the Zs...especially when you are talking about the heritage of the Z.

I bet the owners starting with the 240Z, up to the 370Z will have different opinions then yours...:stirthepot:

Same - Nissan put the turbo engine in the Juke since it's about the same as the engine in my wife's old del Sol that I supercharged (okay, except the Nissan powerplant's DI and DOHC).

If they FI'd the VQ37VHR, we'd be looking at a price point a bit higher... :p

Your pretty much talking about the VR38DETT. I'm not sure if the market is ready for a $50k-70k 380Z TT, but that would fill in the gap between the base Z and GT-R nicely. Pipe dream.

optiontrader 10-20-2010 10:32 PM

^^^ with you on that one... the price on these Z's are perfect.

VQ37.

I won't be surprised to see Nissans next generation V6 go turbo.

i think he is just having a little fun, and stirring the pot. if i had to pick 3 z's i'd take the 240, the 90'z 300zx and the 370z.

anyway, if they turbo the Z it would cost a fair amount more and it would infringe upon the performance of the GTR. notwithstanding, i'd totally get one. but it opens up a whole can of worms. its not just the turbo that would make the car more expensive. its all of the beefed up components necessary just to be able to handle the boost.

Push370zzz 10-20-2010 11:30 PM

If the Z had an engine with 2 less liters of displacement, it would probably be TT as well. The 370z doesn't need one...even the Z32 TT had only 300hp. It was obviously done so they could better regulate fuel economy, probably for upcoming CAFE standards.
