That's good, but to judge the car's ability on "feel" just doesn't pan out as you can see by the CTS-V's low 12-second timeslips vs. the 370's low 13 second timeslips, nearly identical slalom speed (69.2 vs. 69.8), nearly identical 60-0 distance (101 vs. 104 feet), and the only area it clearly "wins" at is the skidpad (.89 vs .97), but without the slalom to back it up, what good is that except on the most extreme sweeping turn? GM just knows hot to deliver power smoothly, remember the "That Z06 felt slower than my 370" thread? Lol
Here is a REAL comparison based on fact and not feel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQPgr...eature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwvtYllqykg Same company/track, sorry I couldn't get it on the same day, though. Last edited by ImportConvert; 10-20-2010 at 09:02 PM. |

sorry to get off point i really didn't mean to make it a post about feel.
it was meant to be about how much car the z is for the money... and with GM an extra 15 grand doesn't get you as much as you think.. i guess when i was driving it i was expecting a better experince... when i kicked the cts in the butt i didn't go oh xxit.... but to each there on... |

Also, yes, the Z is very nice for the money. I am impressed how far Nissan got and how far Porsche Didn't (Cayman) for the money involved. Last edited by ImportConvert; 10-20-2010 at 09:39 PM. |

As I have said before the best bang for the buck depends on your income, trust me there are better feeling and faster cars out there than the Z and cost less. Right now the stang might be a better bang for the buck than the Z, other than its ugly IMO.

That being said, yes, the 370Z is an enormous bang for the buck.

Went and looked at one today. The loaded-out CTS-V will run you around 72K MSRP. Could be had for $1K over invoice at my local dealer. I don't know what invoice is. Probably mid 60's. They look a bit better in person.

ultimately its all about money. you could by a Z and if you put 25k into it, it would be faster than a CTS-V (TT, New transmission etc). once you have a good AWD/RWD platform to work with, and you're not trying to build some rice rocket FWD street racing car, its all about how much money you put into the car.

First the price tag is very large between the two and I'm not too sure if its a fair comparison. We were just talking about this the other day in the office though instead of the Z we were comparing CTS V sedan to the GTR.
![]() Now don't get me wrong I love Nissans but there is something Cadillac did right with this new model. It's not the dedicated track car for occasional street use but rather the opposite with a sporty feel that does not scream 'race me' but is supported by a substantial amount of speed figures. As a car enthusiast I appreciate all vehicles (especially Nissans)for what they are, and I do believe that this car deserves to be recognized! -Scott
