I highly highly doubt you have the first 370Z off the line. Please post a pic of the VIN and the door jam sticker with the build month/year

No need, you have the 829th 2009 370Z as per your post on 9/2

JN1GAAZ34Z0600224 ???

My UK VIN looks similar to yours - the first 9 digits are the same but it all changes after the 'Z34'.

Perhaps there is a country code? I am not sure where in the production line the VIN is applied and if they know the destination of the car at that point.

*** Actually, thinking about this as I type(!) they must know the destination country or all the VINs would have the same coding.

Look at your windsheild on the bottom driver side you can find it there or in the drivers door jam

I know I am new but I have a Red 370z with Vin #409994, bought used with 631 miles. Will post in new 370z members area once I finish digging out of 18 inches of snow.

How come the letters before the serial number on the VIN of my 2011 don't match the chart? "JN1AZ4EH2BM..." After the first six digits, it does not correspond to the chart categories.

And the first two digits of my serial number are "55." What's that; mid-year production?

Bonzo 07-05-2011 03:57 PM

So for coupes it goes.....

40_ _ _ _ = 2009
50_ _ _ _ = 2010
55_ _ _ _ = 2011

Is this correct?

No one ever answered my question above.

I have my VIN# now for my 2012 and it's 60 _ _ _ .

Question, do the last 3 - 4 digits mean the car # produced? In other words, if say my car is 60150 it's the 150th 2012 model year car made?

Just wonderin'.......

:tiphat:

mrcoolguyface 10-12-2011 11:21 AM

Danke!!!

Too bad my car isn't 60007, then it would be out of this world cool.

Of course 60069 wouldn't be bad either.

:p

Bonzo 10-17-2011 09:43 AM

So I swung by my dealer on Saturday and got the official paperwork. Car was built on September 25th, and is scheduled for delivery the week of 11/18.

For thread relevance, the VIN# is in the low 500's. So as of September 25, they have built about 500 2012 Z's.
