The Homelink unit is in the mirror itself. This should not be a big deal to replace, unless they are having issues getting the part.
I do not like how they have designed this unit as all the buttons are flush with the mirror fascia, and unlighted, making it hard to find the correct button at night.

The only problem I had when I tried to get HomeLink working was my Garage Door Opener required several attempts before the 370Z HomeLink "learned" the code hopping algorithm (you have to press the "smart/learn" button on the Garage Door Opener and then within a short period of time press the 370Z's HomeLink button at least 3 times, holding about 1 second each time).

My Homelink worked when I got the car home. The light doesn't blink to repromgam the Homlink. The dealer switched mirrors and it worked on the new z. When they press 1and 3 bottoms the light doesn't start to blink.
