Do you think this was rude?

my boss told me the day after I bought my Blue Z that he's gonna trade in his 350z for the 40th anniv. That really got me heated...but felt ok

my boss told me the day after I bought my Blue Z that he's gonna trade in his 350z for the 40th anniv. That really got me heated...but felt ok in a sense becuz he doesnt do mods on his cars so mine'll look better in the long run IMO. But it was just the fact, ya know?! Anyways..he took the Z for a test drive and told me he won't buy it becuz it didn't do anything for him. That had me shocked since he's coming from on 03 Red 350 with no mods except Nismo exhaust. Either which way..I'm relieved

And sorry to hear about your neightbor, what a douche!

I am thinking I'll have to trade mine in for a GTR, that should hold off the Joneses for a while.

I suppose eventually these cars will be as common as the old 350Zs were back in the days when everyone had a house to mortgage away to buy a car.
RED? Nah.....Blackout Fangz, Black Rimz, Exhaust, Xtra Dark Tint, Blackout tail lightz....Blackout or Color Match Door Handles.....Maybe even do a Stillen or Amuse or even Veilside body kit.....won't look the same and cheaper than a GTR

It's a free country and world. Anyone could buy anything? They don't have to differentiate their choices just beCause it would offend the neighbor.

It should not bother you. But then again, we are all different and only you can answer the issue.

FYI, my left and right neighbors both have the same suv and same color. It doesn't seem to bother them.

Zees are 30k to 40k. I would hope that he had better reasons than "I wanna be like Mike".

When I went to buy my Z I told my dealer I would only get blue or black cherry. Maybe he only liked the car in red? It's not like there is an over abunance of colors for the Z ( unless you want a shade of gray).

His post was immature and ridiculous, much like you getting "worried" that your boss migth get a Z that is better than yours. I'll repeat what I said earlier, imo, BOTH of you need to grow up and gain some perspective as to what's worth worrying about in life.

Oh, and as for screaming into my pillow about my problems, I'm doing just fine thank you, my only regret is wasting my time even posting in this thread.

i say OP should do some mods if it bothers him that much. The irony is that we go on some internet forum and SEEK OUT other people with the same car, but some people are annoying if someone from their neighborhood gets one? i'd be happy if a neighbor got one or if a friend of mine got one. if you hate that people have the same car as you then why would you come on this forum site or go to a Z meet?

Someone getting the same car as you isnt a big deal. I could definitely understand if your neighbor got all the same mods as you and that bothered you. But otherwise, its really not that big of a deal. if you just totalled your Z or something and then he bought the exact model you had and rubs it in your face, yes, thats rude, otherwise, not.

I seriously do not see what the problem is about neighbors or bosses getting a 370Z. The more the merrier I say! If they get the same color as you? MOD and be different...

Thumbs up

This situation has opportunity written all over it:
  • You're speeding and make haste to your garage. When the officer arrives, you point at your neighbor.
  • Wife asks where you've been, and you answer, "At work." You get your other neighbors to verify they saw you leave when you were really at home.
  • It could be worse, Phelan could be your neighbor bearing pillows and JDM parts.
