Who compliments your Z?

This may seem like a strange thread, but I've noticed a very particular demographic that likes/compliments my car. Please note that in NO WAY is this meant to be racist...it's merely a description of my interactions of late. Random experiences have shown that middle-age African American men absolutely love the 370Z. I occasionally get a middle-age woman who says it's cool or that she wants one eventually. Kids randomly comment as well. But by and large, African American men stop me at gas stations, walk up while I'm stopped at traffic lights, or gesture for a window roll down all the time. Not sure how to explain it, but I certainly agree with them. I love this car too

6spd 10-13-2010 02:55 PM

x2, same thing for me actually. I also get many comps and "that stare of awe" from men and women in far more expensive cars (the best was from a middle aged white couple in a Ferrari California that gave me smiles, waves, and fist pumps)!

TreyUT 10-13-2010 02:56 PM

Within this week, I had kids point their fingers at the car as I was driving past them; I had my employer tell me my car was hot; yesterday I had a older lady stop at my car and told me that my car was sexy. The lady was driving a newer mercedes. They were all white. :icon23::icon23::icon23:

Red__Zed 10-13-2010 02:58 PM

Mostly middle aged women notice mine.

nextbesthing 10-13-2010 02:59 PM

Yea, black people love this car. I usually get a "Dammmmmmnn" followed by a "How much you pay for that?". I got the same reaction from them with the G37. Little kids love it too (although half of them think its a porsche or something). I had some 7 year old kid run to my car when I ran into the store real quick and when I came back he told me how the 370 was his favorite car in the world lol. It was cool that he actually knew what it was

6spd 10-13-2010 03:01 PM

When I occasionally bring my car to work, Ive watched people drive into our parking lot, stop near my car, stare at it, and then just leave! Makes you feel good in a "yeah, thats mine" kinda way!

m4a1mustang 10-13-2010 03:06 PM

How wierd is this thread. More often than not it'd be a black guy or a middle aged woman that would actually come up to me and talk to me about the Z. probably 70% of the time I'd say. Kids love the 370 as well.

When I lived in an apartment one of my neighbor's kids would always drool over it but he kept calling it a Corvette. :icon18:

Though the best car guy encounter ever was an old WWII/Korea vet that came up and told me how much my car reminded him of his first Corvette. Pretty cool considering he spent a few years shooting at the people that built it!

GZ3 10-13-2010 03:14 PM

Is this the same guy that always goes into your garage? :icon17:

Azroadster 10-13-2010 03:18 PM

It may be because of where I live, but I by far get more older white guys admiring my Z. 70+ year old guys will approach me in parking lots and want to tell me about when they had one of the original 240's and such. It's kind of cool because I am not that many years away for being one of those guys!

I went to a track day and had a 70-something white guy come up and start on about his 240Z. I couldn't get him to leave me alone. Then my friend in another 370Z pulled up and the guy sauntered over and started with the exact same story. I almost fell over laughing.

he is this guy that won the nismo 370z sweepstakes. He won the car and had to sell it because his wife wouldt let him keep the car. He was trying to sell it for MSRP and saying that it was brand new and wasn't titled, even though it was titled to him. anyways, long story short. he was totally whipped and his wife made him sell a free car. probably to buy a toyota sienna or something. i always pictured her looking like that crazy woman from the sienna commercials.

Hahahaha, you just reminded me of a vietnamese fob in my neighborhood calling a Porsche Boxter a mustang.

His exact words when I walked by was, "DAAAAMNNNN look at that mustang"

I busted out laughing.

Keeping on topic. I have had 1 asian dude, 1 middle age black man, 1928371230 teenagers comment on my car.

I have had a bunch of random people ranging from all ethnicity stare at my car.

370zsport09 10-13-2010 03:58 PM

Usually I get the 23-29 year old single females, no kids, have a (50,000 salary +) career, drive a sports car (Porsche, Lambo, GTR, S2000, M3, etc) keep their cars clean and are swimsuit model built ;) .... Well, one could always wish :P LOL...

- When I got my car at the dealership...I traded in my Lexus IS300..a car with 3 women slender built were in a Hyundai I think...they were BUTTERFACE...said O nice trade up :)

- On average usually get my car confused with Porsche :(

My first comment was from the asian guy. The same day I got my car too. He asked me how fast is it. I said I don't know. He then said that it was a GTR and mentioned something about it having 500 horsepower. I told him it's not a GTR and I wish it had 500 hp. lol
