i think if skyline's were legal here, more people would notice the car because they'd know that it had a history and be like 'OH thats the new sykline gtr (i dont care if nissan says that the skyline name lives on in the g35/37, thats bs). the GTR is a Beast, but i dont think it has that instant 'oooh' affect as much as the Z, to the average person. most of us car enthusiasts look at the GTR and say 'oooh' because we know what it can do, not because its the most beatiful car.

Yup. I don't care for the looks of the GTR but you do have to appreciate the performance and technology in that car.

The other day I was with my girlfriend in her Camry when a GTR passed us. I pointed it out to her and she asked "What's so special about that car?"

The AA people are cooler, more open and very vocal about what they think. So I am not surprised that this may lead us to believe they like it more than others.

IMHO

Kids randomly comment as well. But by and large, African American men stop me at gas stations, walk up while I'm stopped at traffic lights, or gesture for a window roll down all the time. Not sure how to explain it, but I certainly agree with them. I love this car too

hah funny that you say that. i noticed that the other day. I was at the mall, this black man was trying on an outfit and asks this black woman who was walking by if it looked good. she gave him a solid 2 minute criticism of the outfit and what she should change and then walked away. it was funny. where i live, most of the white people that you wouldn't consider 'young' are stuck up and think that you want to kill or rob them and won't talk to anyone they dont' already know.

I had the opposite response when I had my RX-8. It was a guy magnet! Not that there's anything wrong with that, but not my thing as a middle aged married dude. I have to say though, that the questions were always very thoughtful (asking about the rotary, weight distribution, suicide doors, etc.).

Then I owned a MINI. That was a grandma magnet. But you know, cool grandmas. Except when gas was approaching $5 a gallon. Then everyone asked me what MPGs I had achieved (the answer, in case you are wondering is 40 mpg cruising at 60 mph, windows up, no AC).

Now I get the looks with the Z others describe and some "nice car!" comments. No particular demographic. Although there is a cute jogger I pass every now and again and I always get a double take from her (funny, she doesn't do that when I'm driving my Mazda)

I always get a nod from middle aged white men. A few younger white women. Its funny that this thread popped up. A friend of mine just got his 370Z and was telling me middle aged Black men all commented on his car. He's White I'm Black... Go figure.

I would say that 90% of my compliments come from middle aged black guys who are driving a truck. I usually get a comment like "How fast does that thing go?".

I always got compliments from pretty much all demographics, black, white, asian, old, young, you name it. Thats what I miss, only people that glare and comment on my Stang is old retirees and people who were lusting after or owned the original 5.0 foxbody :/

Haha, I get probably 75% of the looks with the 5.0 that I did with the 370. One thing that remains true is that chicks like Zs and chicks like Mustangs. That will always be!

Lifted trucks and Stangs with loud pipes woot! Speaking of lifted trucks, I was just talking shit to one of my coworkers, he did the whole lift kit, big wheels/tires crap and added the semi truck stacks, I told him how his truck now will probably only pull half as much as it normally would and he didnt like that too much.
