I don't think lag would be too much of an issue on this setup, I haven't experienced one first hand, but from most reviews, it really isn't that bad. Depending on what this car is used for, it should be fine.
I love how there is open WG dump for the left exhaust tip, bet this thing sounds bitchin'! Someone get some video, please :) |
Why does part of it look like it was fabricated from beaten up tin cans?
|
now add a supercharger in the front and goodbye boost lag !!
|
You're gonna need to go back to the shop and get us some dyno graphs.
|
I don't see how it doesn't have any more boost lag than a regular TT setup. Think about all the extra tubing that turbo has to pressurize before you hit full boost. Not to mention the lag on a larger single turbo.
It's an interesting setup and probably will put great numbers down. From a driveablility standpoint I would stick with TT. |

I think its more the issue of being a bit cheaper..... and less work.... |
That's probably true. Any idea what the cost difference is?
|
The one problem I've heard about this setup is the stock cats occationally giving up the ghost blowing chunks into the turbo. HFC's or testpipes will fix that.

Reserve any comments on the performance until I see the dyno.... |
When i went back to the shop to pick my car up, they were pulling it around front to park it and it was off the dyno. Sounds like a beast. I should've asked to see the chart, but one of the guys said it was making around 450whp.
Edit: I've talked to a couple guys in Vegas with STS kits on their cars and according to them there is hardly any difference in the amount of time it takes the turbo to reach full boost. |
