370z Base & Sports pkg or 370z Touring with Nav

Guys,

I am actively looking to purchase a 370z. While the performance of the car is important to me, I place a lot of importance to styling as well.

I am contemplating the base model with sports package or the touring model with Navigation system. While it's not a fair comparison, there is the damn budget issue

My question is: Which option would be a better choice?

Your inputs are appreciated!

That's a tough call, since you're looking for both. I can tell you this, Touring+sport may be your thing. It's only 1100 more than getting touring+nav, and the nav is honestly a load of bull.

The NAV package comes with some fancy dodads, but most of them aren't anything worth the 1850. The nav can honestly be done some other way. The blue tooth is featured in normal touring, it's just that nav lets you interface with your phone more intricately. The music box is where the nav package fails. It will only accept tracks from CDs, so forget the compact flash or ipod transfers. And on top of that, it will only rip complete CDs, which you can then go into and delete out tracks. It's much more economical to use the compact flash player, which is unfortunately a part of the nav package only.

That's all I really have to say about the nav. It is nice having all of the functions viewable on the screen, but for 1850, and as soemone that wants the sports package under a budget, you may want to consider going Touring+Sport instead for 1100 more.

base with sports package for sure

the sports package with the forged wheels, rev match, spoilers, vdc is a steal

while the touring with the bose speakers, leather/suede seats, and nav isnt worth that extra money IMO.

and there are always aftermarket speakers, seats, and nav that you could install later down the road.

You can always get an aftermarket nav down the road, you can buy several garmins for $1850.00. Tuff choice, i went with sport/ touring. Either way you cannot go wrong. How about color? What are you thinking?

About aftermarket Navigation systems:

I read in some other thread here that they don't integrate as well as the one that comes with the factory model. I really like the "looks" and the interface of the factory model Nav system.

About color:

Magnetic Black, baby  It will be my first black color car. I have purchased red color cars before.

Also, is there a possibility of having Nissan install factory model Nav system down the road?

the question is - 'what do you want in a car?'

if i really wanted the navi and sports package, i would have gotten them. but i was thinking about moding the car and wanted to save some money for that. which is why i just ended up with the touring model.

the reason I went with touring is because i needed bluetooth and i liked the leather seats.

Good luck in your decision, red all the way.....

I love the touring sport - mine is Black 6 sp manual. Drove a model with the nav and wasn't impressed. Love the bluetooth and sound system. I guess it comes down to what grabs ya!

I just had to go through the same decision earlier this week :) I ended up opting for the base + sports. There are a few things I miss from the touring/nav, but not enough for me to be able to justify the premium without any buyers remorse.

I just feel like I got much more value for my money with my Z, then I would of otherwise. Also this economy has got me a bit spooked so I figure shaving some cash off now is never a bad idea!

Only thing I am missing currently (after 24 hours of ownership) is the sound system. But hopefully it won't be too hard to upgrade that in the future.

Im going to be ordering the sport+touring as of now and I am leaning on no nav. In the end if I decide nav the 1100 dollars will only amount to about 20 a month extra. I'm leaning no nav for the fact that A) I dont think I will use it often enough I know my way around NY,NJ, PA and theres always mapquest and B) the non nav covered cubby hole will be much more useful ie.. for my iphone, money clip etc etc
