you are generalizing on who you know that has had them. Ive talked to some guys that have have highend cars and they know thier car inside and out and what it can and cant do. I can say the same about people who drive the Z too. Some know and some dont, its like that for all cars. And again you are getting hung up on the money thing. Some people dont care about the money if they have the money. If a 400 hp car that cost 50,000 and 400 hp car that cost 30,00 Im going to compare based on hp not cost. That 20,000 extra wasnt spent on the engine alone but in other areas too. (the CTS V) And the Porsche has a higher reliability rating than the Z. And when you say building a car, do you mean you do all the work or just buy the parts and have someone else do the work? Cuz I would bet that a very small % of Z owners can build a fast car. You find people on the forums who know more about cars and thats why they are on here but there are plenty of Z owners who arent on a forum and drive the Z and dont change anything. Also I will say if I have the income to buy 100,000 dollar cars Im probably in a profession that requires plenty of time day and night and why would I worry about installing an exhaust myself.

Default Too Old For Z

You people are not old enough! I am getting a new Z for my 70th birthday and I don't care what people think. I kept my '83 RX7 for 15 years until I drove the '98 Acura Integra. I still own that Integra because I could never find anything that I liked better until I drove a new Z.

My son, who is 43, wants that Integra to replace his late model Saturn, which is no fun at all.

Did I mention that I am female?

Hooray lady! And you are driving a manuel at 70. So many younger folks here have turned to automatics because it's too hard, for whatever reason, to use the clutch. Hats off. to you.

I'm 56...I'm overweight...I autocross my Zs...I LOVE the Z and have had many and have every intention of having many, many more.

Unless you have a physical problem that would keep you from getting in/out of the vehicle saying anyone it "too old' is ridiculous.

Maybe you need a new friend?

Default Am I too old for a Z

I just saw this threat and couldn't hold back a comment. Check my old thread; I bought my 2011 370Z when I was 70 and still have it. It is my daily driver and has held up well. It makes me feel good and keeps me young. I am furious when I see 70-year old people referred to as elderly.

The only maintenance, other than fluids, was alignments. It seems to eat tires; 20K on the original Yokohamas and 32K on the Michelin touring tires. (To Michelin's credit, they gave me a nice adjustment on the next set.)

My husband wants me to get a new Corvette or a 400Z, but no, I am sticking with my 379Z.
