you can see out the hatch of course, but you cant see much, thats why they gave the car such large side view mirrors. it takes some getting used to but it's not an issue.

What's it like in a parking deck with one them? Is it a nightmare mixed with praying to the space pope that you don't run over some old lady or something?

Or urban parking even.

I still find it tough, although I am starting to get used to it. I try to back in to spots to make things easier when pulling out. There is enough visibility with the mirrors to back in resonably well.

In a few cases where I had to back out while there was alot going on behind me (traffic and tons of pedestrians), I slowlly inched back by feathering the clutch while revving the engine a bit higher than usual so my exhaust would warn folks to my way. LOL

I imagine backing in a car that small is relatively easy...I haven't been able to ever master it with my land yacht of a G8...it's hard enough to put it into a regular parking spot forwards with that car.

You driving your Z year round here in Jersey or are you going to be using a winter beater?

Try adding in the NISMO wing and rear vis is pretty much gone. The mirrors are very good at compensating for the lack of vis out the hatch. You get used to backing into or out of parking areas in a short time.

As far as colors go, I am a little upset that they discontinued Cicane Yellow, Volcanic Orange, Midnight (both the Blue and the Purple), and lastly, Nagaro Red. They were all colors that set Nissan (especially Zs, Spec-Vs, GT-Rs, and S13s/S14s) apart from everything else on the road. It is sad that it is cheaper to offer multiple shades of white/grey/black.

Yea seriously, enough with the gray. They are too similar to add yet another shade. They need to bring back the cool 350z colors. Those were classics.

Havsie, I have no plans of driving the Z year round. I don't have a garage, so I will be storing it in my parent's place sometime in November. It's not my daily driver so no big deal. I have a Scion tC as my beater. It's a cheap car, but also such a great value in terms of refinement and build quality for the money. It's got reasonable torque (2.4L) and a 5MT, so it gets the job done.

BTW, that's a mighty tasty looking fish you have there, although i prefer mine sliced thin and served over a bed of sticky rice.

What about orange, green, burgundy, etc.? I don't know why they took away yellow.

The Chicane Yellow was the "special" color for the 2009 MY only.

For MY 2012 they'll probably offer gun metal or black wheels for each trim level. How exciting!

Id really like to see the old 350z royal blue, that color always made me smile and drool when one went by! I have a blue car now but im not fond of the 370z light blue, its just too bright for my taste. The yellow was a bit far fetched for me as well, I like a nice yellow but it was too bright or light for me. I agree, the silvers are a dime a dozen, ive been keeping a keen eye on the for sale forums to buy a used z from here but all i ever see is silver, even my old HS buddy bought a silver 370z!!! As long as nissan doesnt bring back that God awful orange, ghetto color ewww

The rear view is poor. The mirrors do help, but not that much when backing up. I had a backup camera installed. It uses the NavTool device that puts the image on my nav screen. It makes all the difference in the world when backing out of a parking space, particularly when two giant SUV's are on either side of my car. The backup camera is a really nice addition.

I knew it was only for 2009 but it is a great color for the Z, instead of having all those shade of gray.

Plus I really don't like that Cherry Black color unless is rag top.

all i know is this... the z is a quality vehicle. It is a performance bargain, but not due to features. it is more due to capability. That said, the z with its most basic option package pushes it to $35k. i believe nissan and all other car companies can afford to at least put a quality paint finish on the car in this price range. furthermore, they can offer us a broader spectrum of colors. as mentioned above, the 350z did so much better offering true car enthusiast grade colors. i hope nissan gets on forums to see how owners and enthusiasts feel about their decisions.

Deep metallic green. Or a nice orange metallic. And they need something more like a deep burgandy metallic--something that is closer to a dark red than the "missed the target" black cherry...
