Sound deadening

i read flashburn's diy on sound deadening and he used second skin. i wanted a few opinions on what brand i should purchase: dynomat or second skin. any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Well, I pretty much already voiced my opinion on this, but I've always felt that Dynomat is overpriced and pretty much the same as the rest of the sound deadening materials. Although I really haven't compared prices between them and others recently, so perhaps their prices have come more in line with other companies.

Second Skin definitely seemed like pretty high quality material, at least compared to Elemental Design's. I like ED's products a lot, but Second Skin's quality of deadening material seems way better.

Yeah, like I said, I haven't compared prices in a long time (5+ years), and back then they were overpriced. Regardless, Second Skin is a forum sponsor, so at least check them out before hand.

Ant sold the business so they are not active on this site anymore. Although, they are still listed as a forum sponsor. Anywho, I just did my whole hatch (total overkill on my part... my interior plastics are probably 1/2 closer to each other than they were... haha), but my hatch is now Mercedes quiet. I'm very impressed.

Ah wow, I didn't know that. I wondered why they got so much quieter on the forums.
