vdc issues?
okay, i did search, and if i missed i'm sorry, but when the questions is answered mods please feel free to lock or delete this thread...
ok, yesterday it was raining pretty good for the first time in like 3 weeks lol, so i turned VDC off and had some fun, and yes i'm absolutely 100% positive it was off at all times...so ok i kick it out a couple times things are going good, havin a blast, but then, im in the 'zone' (lol) and i go to kick it out, but it acted as vdc was on? no lights came up indicating vdc kicked in, as if it were on.. so i was like what the heck, so does this sometimes randomly happen? because it wasnt turning on at all before hand, and then it randomly did.. so i just did a little messin around in the parkin lot and it was fine..?? any help is greatly appreciated |

Something similar happended to me the other day, except the VDC light did come on because as soon as it activated I looked down and the light was going out. I immediately looked at the VDC Off indicator and it was still lit?

in the 350z i had, when i turn off the VDC , the VDC-off lights on.
even when its turned off, if there is a huge difference between the rotation of the rear and front tyres (like doing small radias dounut where the front tyres rotation is none) , the SLIP light turnes on by it self, and stays on with the VDC-off light. and can't be turned off again until u turn off-on the engine. i searched and found alot of people say, having both VDC-off & SLIP light on means the VDC is completly turned off. i saw some best motoring video video doing small dounut to turn off the VDC before testing the car im pretty sure the 370z is the same |

You probably transitioned to a surface with more grip and thought it was VDC slowing your interrupting your slide.

VDLC will kick in even with VDC turned off when there is huge wheel spin differentials left to right. It can be disabled by disconnecting the module under the ebrake cover or by doing a lot of donuts, or jacking up a rear corner so that it spins freely while you rev it gently in 2nd or 3rd gear. At that point the slip light will come on and stay on indicating that the VDLC system has "given up". Restarting the car resets it.
It will blink at me occasionally on my first auto-x run on cold race tires but it is not enough to bother me so I leave it alone.

For such a killer sports car I can't believe we got stuck with such a crappy "aid."
There is no sport mode and you can't turn it 100% off at the press of a button.

Installing a real diff should cure about 90% of the problem.
