is this a normal function of door locks

this may have already been posted before so sorry if it has.

came across this by accident today. when i got out of my car today i locked it as always using the button beside the door handle.checked it and the car was locked. i then unlocked the car using the key fob went inside the house to get my cell phone and when i got back to the car the doors where locked. is this some kind of safety feature. i wasn't gone more than minute.

sorry if this has been discussed before.

Doors will autolock after 30 secs if you don't open the door. Useful safety feature

Yep, just in case you accidentally unlock it with your man junk while sitting at the desk.
