New speeding laws...TT, why bother?
B.C. now has the toughest speeding laws in the country.
40 kms. over, or about 25 mph, gives a mandatory 7 day suspension, car impounded, plus a $483 fine, 3 points on driving record, impound fees, and a 3 year insurance fee of risk-premiums of $320 per yr. for 3 yrs..

Wow, basically you cannot get up on the car in higher gears on the street then ever, and I would bet they do not take kindly to you doing hard launches from a dig.

I'm all for shutting down street racing, and the general idiots that speed through populated areas. But when you're out in the country with no cars and a mile long stretch of empty hwy., yeah, I like the exhilaration of running through the gears occasionally.
In the past I accept the chance I may get a hefty fine, but the thought of having my baby hauled up on some yokel's tow truck is just too much!

In Houston you got to jail for racing, get your car impounded, pay court fees, fines, and community service. Buy the tt becuase you want it not cause your not supposed to use it. In that case no one would have a fast car. I am a grandma driver and I still get a huge smile every morning when I crank her up and drive her.

How about a mandatory chip that would "sync up" with whatever the speed limit is on the road you are driving on. It would then act like a governor/limiter with the max speed being whatever the posted sign is.
But are they really looking to stop speeding or are they just using "public safety" as an excuse to generate revenue? Quote:
