? about 370Z rims
Can anyone tell me why the 370z front rims are "flatter" than the back rims?
The lugs on the back rims seem to sit deeper in the rim well than the front rims do. Makes the back rims look like they have much more depth and dimension (which I think looks much cooler). I guess I'm just used to seeing identical rims all the way around and it just looks a little awkward. Anyone know why this change occurred from the 350 to the 370? |
the brakes in the back are smaller and the wheels in teh back are wider. You are refering to the concavity of the wheel. since the the front brakes are larger and require more clearance for the wheel, there is less room for a large lip, or deep concavity. Same reason why the rear lip on wheels with large lips is always bigger than the front.

Thanks for the explanation. Guess I never paid attention to that before with other cars.

You do know that the rear rims are an inch wider than the front rims, right?

Its because they're staggered.. Kind of like wheels with fatter lips in the back vs the front.
