Some rant, some advice...

Dear members,

Several things happened to me recently and I learned a few things I would like to share with you.

This morning, I was distracted and after I turned the car on, I released the clutch and well, I was in first gear. The car jumped forward and crashed into the wall ahead, the car stalled and I cried.

I had the clear bra installed on my car. After this incident, I am now fully convinced that this is a wonderful product absolutely worth the money. My clear bra has a few scratches on it and it torn in a few places but the paint is intact. The bumper is now about 5mm misaligned, but not detectable unless you are actually looking for it, it will probably slowly go back to where it was in a hot day and through driving. I also have noticed that the bumper is very flexible.

And now about my wheels, a while back I scratched one of my wheels. Today I bought one of those silver markers (the ones that are metallic color) and I touched up the scratches. It worked surprisingly well, it is now barely visible.

I am going to get the clear bra installation fixed, I feel like an idiot, but at least a relatively lucky idiot.

Sh!t happens...much better than a human body injury or aliment. Clear bras are worth it, even if they need replacement.

I agree. My first ever "car crash" against a wall going at 3mph! The best kind of crash...

I had some very rare rims that cost a bloody fortune and once before I took them to have the tires replaced I wanted to exchange the lugs as they were black and perfect so I didn't want the shop to mar them. During the lug nut exchange I grabbed the 1/2" torque wrench and swung it toward the rim. Just then the socket came flying off (as I had forgotten to place the ratchet dimple at the socket alignment hole) and smacked the rim causing two big gashes in the rim. I was inventing new profanity thereafter. My wife's response: "It's just a car." Life does continue.

OP, I used silver paint on a curb incident on one of my rear wheels. I agree, it came out much better than I had hoped. I scraped the curb about 2 weeks after I bought the car :crying:

Yeah, after this happened, my girl friend says "It is just a car!" I said, yeah and you are just a collection of Carbon atoms. Needless to say, it did not end well.

"the car stalled and i cried" hahaha im so sorry but I got a kick out of this. But i did not know clear bra can also protect from impacts. How much does clear bra cost on a 370z?

Dude I have gone through the same thing, your shocked, cant figure out how it happened, and feel a sense of rage and maybe even cry. Get it fixed as soon as possible, then forget about it. Stay strong

I did this to my 2008 350Z, but I hit the shelf where my hot water heater sits. There were giant bolt heads sticking out of it and I got a big bolt head depression in my front bumper. Luckily it was where the front license plate would've gone so I just put the front plate on when I traded the car in.

My girlfriend cried with me, and then I proposed to her.

glad everything is fixable. If i do park in gear, i take it out of gear before turning on the car just to avoid this kinda thing. i'm kinda ocd about it.

Well for some people is just a car, but for me is not!

That remark is classic! :roflpuke2:

I stalled the first time I got into the car. I didn't know whether to hit the clutch and the brake or just the clutch. Drove too many toyotas/lexus and they all require a brake push-button. Don't worry we all make mistakes. I nearly had an heart attack lol
