Some rant, some advice...

This morning, I was distracted and after I turned the car on, I released the clutch and well, I was in first gear. Sucks to hear. Luckily wasn't too bad.

Sucks to hear. Luckily wasn't too bad. But this brings up a good point..

I remember when i first got the car I used to put it in gear and one time not paying attention I did exactly the same thing, let out the clutch without checking that it was in neutral, luckily didn't hit anything though. Made it a point to not leave it in gear after that incident, just leave it in neutral and throw the handbrake on.

How many of you guys park with the car in gear?

Never leave it in gear when it's parked. Only the e-brake.

That's the thing, if your parking downhill (like my driveway) i keep it in reverse. This is just from common knowledge if your used to parking it on hills. I keep mine on neutral on flat terrain though.

I had the clear bra installed on my car. After this incident, I am now fully convinced that this is a wonderful product absolutely worth the money. My clear bra has a few scratches on it and it torn in a few places but the paint is intact. The bumper is now about 5mm misaligned, but not detectable unless you are actually looking for it, it will probably slowly go back to where it was in a hot day and through driving. I also have noticed that the bumper is very flexible.

And now about my wheels, a while back I scratched one of my wheels. Today I bought one of those silver markers (the ones that are metallic color) and I touched up the scratches. It worked surprisingly well, it is now barely visible.

I am going to get the clear bra installation fixed, I feel like an idiot, but at least a relatively lucky idiot.
What is the brand and name of the silver marker? When I bought my new Z, I failed to spot a small "curb rash" scrape that I'd like to conceal. Where can I buy the marker? Thanks.

Yeesh, I always leave my car in gear. Had one car with a crappy e-brake and heard too many other horror stories to rely just on it alone.

Then again I'm kinda OCD and always give the shifter a little wiggle to make sure it's out of gear if I want to let the clutch out while idling.

I can't remember right now. But I bought one that had a lot of Japanese writings on it. Very thin, silver color with a black cap, had a ball in it that you could hear when you shake it and you had to push the tip in to let the ink flow.

I think he's talking about paint pen. You can get them at any arts and craft store.
