Rim damage question
So once again i have bad luck with the 40th. I was cut off today by some jerk and while swerving out of the way I hit a raised sewer cap ( the road was being repaired and all the sewer caps were raised). I heard an awful grind and pulled over to see that my front rim is scrapped. It is not a huge dent, just looks like the paint/clear coat was scrapped off ( similar to when you see rims that are scrapped while trying to park next to a curb). I bought the optional Nissan tire and wheel insurance, my question is.........
-will the dealership give me a hard time with this? -Has anyone else had to bring in their 370z to get rim damage repair? -what is the standard repair repair guidelines, do they repair it or just replace it? -Will i end up having to pay even though I got the optional wheel/rim insurance? -When will my bad luck change? |
Simply find someone in your area that repairs rims like someone here in SoCal did (pics in thread). Skip the dealer (unless Lou makes house calls): Wheel Repair in So Cal

If you bought wheel/rim insurance why wouldn't you use it?

No pics sorry as car is in the shop, but I just noticed a 2-3 inch dirt triangle mark on my side wall. It seems to have left a few tiny digs into the wheel itself of the lattice work. I do not think this will constitute a repair. Sadly I am ensured in the inevitability in the future need of such a service. |
in order to have your insurance to cover everything without having you pay anything, you need to make a police report. If you goto your near by police station, they'll make you fill out the details of the accident. The insurance company will then get this report from the police station to make sure its not a fraud. But then again......do you really wanna go through all this?(very time consuming) I'd say just check your local shop first for the price of your wheel damage and just cover it yourself if it does cost too much. And sorry about your bad luck

I have curb damage on my front driver side rim (19" Sports Package Rays). Thinking of contacting RimguardXtreme (local here in NC) to get it fixed. Any ideas what I should expect to pay?

I don't know why you'd need any advice on it. What could someone possibly tell you? Jack up the other three so you get your money's worth? Slash the tires while you're at it so you get new rubber? Just go get it fixed. |
