But if this is true ur telling me in a manual trans (not touching the shifter) u will see the shifter automatically downshift for u? Haha I dunno this makes sense in an automatic not in a manual.

I would see this as an advantage since the reputation of a weak syncro and tranny from Nissan (hint hint....GT-R).
The G37 doesn't have that feature. You are confusing yourself with automatic Sport mode with up shift and down shift. I am going to sort this out right now.

G37

Automatic = You can use the sport mode and use + or - to upshift or down shift.
Manual: Traditional 6 speed.

Nissan GTR

It comes with it's one of a kind $20,000 price tag twin clutch transmission. 370Z is NOT getting this transmission.

Nissan 370Z

Automatic: 7 speed automatic just like G37. It comes with optional paddle shifters. You can upshift and down shift with thumb controlled + or - button.

Manual: World's First Rev Matching Downshifting tranny. The car WILL NOT down shift for you. All this tranny will do is rev match to perfect RPMs as you down shift. Lets say you're driving 6th gear but you want to go to 5th. All you have to do is clutch in > shift to 5th and clutch out. The car will rev match to the right RPMs as you let of your clutch. This should be very interesting. I'm not totally sure if the rev matching occurs right after down shifting to 5th or right after clutch disengage. You gotta wait 5 more days for that info.

Default This could be good...

This could end up being an okay compromise for people who like having a manual, but get "tech-envy" while looking at the features found on the automatics of cars such as the IS-F, C63, and Nissan's own GTR. Chevy's engineers dialled in launch control (REAL, warranty-backed launch control as far as I know), and no-lift upshifting into their Cobalt SS, and I'm sure those features are highlighted in every dealer's sales pitch. Then again... how cool would it have been that instead of dumping money into new manual shifting tech, Nissan included a 'performance driving academy' package with each new 370z purchase? Then we would still have the ability to rev-match downshift, but with a much cooler story to tell our friends!

BlackBullet is an unknown quantity at this point
Default What!!!!!

Ak370,
I think you are confused. You just restated what I was trying to say. I was asking if he was refering to the rev match system, because there is no such thing as a auto downshift system.

Dav,
You might get ur answer from what I just said above. BTW, there's a good chance that I started doing manual before you were driving at all.

Yes, but this do is the problem. The car does what an experienced driver likes to do, and I'm just talkin' about matching the revs for yourself! I don't know the correct english term, we italians call it "punta-tacco". When you learn to do it, you don't wanna lose it, especially me.. It's so long that I've been waiting for this car and have to hear this sh*t...
