I REALLY HOPE/THINK it's an option... |
Hey, perhaps I found the answer.
Take a look at these shots: Nissan 370Z In particular the shot that shows an "S-mode" button, with a typical 6 gear shape on it. I think that's the button you should press if you want activate this f***ing downshifting system. I HOPE SO. |
There goes your worry. Its confirm that you can turn on/off that rev match system.
|
The rev-matching isn't an auto downshifting function. I think you may be confusing both trans choices. The 7AT is programmed to provide quicker downshifts, while the 6MT with the Rev Matching function will help make sure the engine revs stay in the power band on downshifts for those with less driving skills with a MT.
There's a button to the forward right of the shifter on the 6MT labeled S-Mode (Shift-Mode), which facilitates turning the rev matching function on or off. My understanding is you are not required to drive with this function on if you don't want it. I could be wrong, but that is what I have read and overheard. Don't fret. Nissan won't emasculate our precious 6MT. ;-) zed-er |
Ok, here is the confirm.
Nissan/Infiniti News Room In this official video, at 4:10, we clearly see that the pilot drives normally and then presses the button to activate the rev-matching function. Good news! |
