THIS. I've wanted this feature in every car I've owned since the late 80's (don't laugh) when I was in my then-girlfriend's Buick Skylark (don't laugh again). Aftermarkets also hard to find this feature in. They'll scan presets, but not seek frequencies.

Did you test drive a BMW as well? Looks like a feature brochure from a 335i.
