It's very unlikely that a "gravel or pebble" got between...where does one come up with these types of ideas?? ...the space between the rotor & brake pad is very small only brake dust exists & even that is eliminated by scouring of the pad against the rotor.

I dunno, he should check, because there could be a small turtle stuck in there. They have really hard shells!

i guess you've never driven in construction zones or unpaved roads. it can happen. ive experienced it several times.
