Performance:Nismo vs Touringw/sport pack
I have trouble deciding which model to choose. Touring has all the lux features but i do plan on modding and tunning my Z. but why do i see some articles where the touring performs just a bit better? like for example the dsports magazine even proves it and even this
IL Track Tested: 2009 Nissan Nismo 370Z vs. 2009 Nissan 370Z Touring If I get the nismo I would have to also worry about the interior like for example the audio and nav. and i plan on changing everything anyways because i don't want to keep it stock or look stock. If I get the full loaded Touringw/sport pack, I wouldn't need to worry about the interior at all and just focus on performance and exterior and might save. but in the nismo i would have to change everything. both would be around the same price. now I'm looking back and thinking if its because of those braces in the suspension in the nismo, maybe people didn't remove them? OH AND ONE MORE QUESTION: people who have the nismos and have removed the black braces that were suppose to be removed, did you notice: 1)better feel over rough roads when you had the braces on? because I have always heard how rough the nismo is to the point its unbearable on the streets. 2)lower in height?(ground clearance) 3) better performance? maybe? **Sorry for being a newb if by chance I am being one, but this forum is one of the best organized, easiest to use I have seen and i know there are friendly people here whose willing to help out a new dude. Thank You |

The Touring/Sport performs just as well because there really isn't a big difference between the NISMO and regular Z.

I have not ridden in a NIZMO so I can't compare. I run my Touring/Sport on the track on occasion and can say the suspension is a bit soft for my taste/driving, however on sketchy pavement (normal driving) I quite like it. Performance wise…with test pipes and a CBE I'm quite pleased as well.

No, but the NISMO's front splitter might make it more difficult getting into driveways and such.

I went with the Nismo because I just love the body much more than the regular Z and on top of that the rims. Nismo rims > sport package rims in my opinion.
1. If you are refering to the spring spacers then yes the ride quality dramatically changed. It is much more softer without the spacers. It is still stiffer than the base but has a more sporty feel. 2. I believe it is only .4 inch lower than the regular Zs. Not much difference. The only problem is the front bumper sticking out too much which gives you problems going up and down ramps. Most speed bumps I do not have an issue with. 3. The two car performance wise, there isn't really much. The feel of both cars are a bit different though. When I test drove the base Z it is softer on the road. yeah but whether i get the nismo or fully loaded touring, I'm going to change the exterior, so is it rly worth it to get the nismo? cuz if i get the touring i wont have to worry about the interior or the audio.

If you're going to change the exterior don't get the NISMO. Just get the Touring/Sport. Seems like it's what you really want, anyways. Go for it.

yeah, but my friend is trying to convince me the nismo is worth it. he says it got better value and if you do change the exterior, you can sell the nismo bumpers for 3-4k, and im like ummm... just wana verify if that is true. he even says he can sell the nismo back for 50-60k but that was a stupid thing to say so i ignored him when he said that. his brother has a nismo. so is what he says correct?

Ignore your crazy friend. Why is a crazy guy like that your friend?
Anyways the touring model fits you best because if you are going to change the exterior then you are wasting your money on a Nismo. |

As someone who is in on this search as well, I can only express what I'm thinking from another potential buyer's POV.
If you are planning on doing anything at all to the body, exhaust, rims....don't get the NISMO. Plain and simple. Especially if you really want that Nav package.
