Voice Control: Can you turn the radio off?
I hope this doesn't sound like a stupid newbie question, but I am really stumped. I have a brand new touring (sport package and nav) 370. The voice commands are great. However, I can't seem to find one that will turn the radio off. I can turn it on and tune to XM, FM, USB, etc., but I can't find a command to turn it off.
Am I missing something? Thanks, Bob |
i dont htink there is a voice command for it. you just press the volume knob and whether yuo're listneing to ipod, cd, usb, XM, AM, FM etc it will turn off.

Thanks Jeff.

i see what you're saying, but i've never really been bothered by it since it takes less efort to hit one button to turn it off, than it does to hit a button, and say something and wait for it to turn off. look on the bright side, Your prius may have had the 'voice activated audio off' but your Z is fast. I must say, the idea of people selling hybrids to buy sports cars puts a smile on my face:tiphat: Welcome to the forums!

maybe you can DIY a clap on clap off thingie for your stereo. ;)
|
I you close your eyes, the radio turns off eventually.

If I'm in a situation where I'm being held captive in the car with the stereo on full blast with some god awful music playing, and my hands were tied to the steering wheel, and the only thing I can reach is the voice command button, then I would say yes, Nissan missed the boat on this one.

While I agree the voice command is a bit ridiculous (and slow), I do miss the climate control by voice the newer Acura's have for direct temperature setting. Also the dual zone feature ;)

I'd love to see some of the pics of those other cars. all of those are pretty bad ***. |
Btw, which MR-2? I had a 1989 (1st Gen) SC setup with HKS stage II and rally suspension. It was a great car.
