Assuming you're stock your clutch should be fine

Launching can be tricky, especially with the 6-speed manual.

I usually launch at about 4000 rpm and let out the clutch pretty hard, but every track is different. You've got a nismo so the spring rates are a bit stiffer so weight-transfer out of the hole might be a bit harder.

The clutches on these cars seem pretty durable, I've got about 60 passes on mine so far. So far so good, knock on wood.

and good luck!

It's all about the driver. If you are inexperienced expect to be a little disappointed with mid to high 13's. Talk to some of the other drag racers on the forum about some technique of how to launch without smoking the tires or bogging the engine.

Thanks guys, I've raced everything I've ever owned at the track, an I won the N/A class in Holt Fl with my SRT-10, i think I'm a decent driver, never had problems getting out of the hole, and 3rd is pretty easy to hit in this car. Well just see, the track is new and hooks very well, I was cutting 1.9 60' times on wore out street tires with my truck, I'm hoping for at least a 13.3...Oh and the car is 100% stock

Hopefully it's cooler in GA than it is in FL.

Bring it to Z Nationals later this month (Tifton is only about 2 Hours from the shop). We will be making a run to Steel, Alabama to Alabama International Drag Strip for a 1/4 mile track session on Sunday.

No better way to answer that question than by lining up against another 370z!

Good luck. The rear spring rates are just too high for the nismo to be anything close to a drag racer. If you can pull off a sub 2.1 60ft time, i would consider that a miracle.

How much stiffer are the nismo spring rates than stock?

Much stiffer and unforgiving in rear weight transfer.

So far the best I've done is 2.4 60' time and a 0.270 reaction time. Too much wheel spin at launch

~450lb/inch - regular
~510lb/inch - nismo

did 3 runs few months ago and having over 100 runs of experience with my G35, it did not turn out good at all. I think that is the reason nismo posts the same 1/4 mile numbers on magazines and reviews as the regular ones is because there is no way to get a decent 60ft time....

Hmm, red-light racing my buddies 10 I can get a hard jump on him, well see how it turns out if I make it down there.
