370z in the winter?
Hi,
I am considering buying a 370z. However, I can only have one car, so it would be my daily driver all year long. I live in Toronto, Canada, so obviously my main concern is how the Z will drive during the winter. If I get proper snow tires, can I drive the 370z all winter long? I realize it's RWD and has low ground clearance, so it will certainly be a challenge. Is there anyone here who drives their Z in harsh winter conditions? Thanks to all those who respond. |
yes, with proper winter tires and vdc on, the car is quite easy to drive in the winter. it's no worse than all those suv and sedan cars you see everyday on bald worn out all seasons making their way through the snow

Welcome! You'll be able to do it wiith a good set on snow tires

Thanks for replies.
Can anyone recommend the best set of winter tires for the 370z? |
I haven't checked to see if they are available, but I've found Blizzaks to be the best. Dunlap Winter Sports are also very good.

I bought some Blizzaks last year and they were fantastic in the snow.
Tirerack still has them for cheap. Tire Search Results |
Z in the winter = GARAGE!

with a weight distribution of 54/46 and snow tires should handle just fine but when it snows alot that's another story.

i know it is not a Z but I have a G37 that is not a SC G37. I have had it since 2008. I live in Edmonton Canada and drive my car all winter. a good set of winter. michelin pilot alpins and some care while driving and it is fine. Just make sure to wash the cae once a week to get the salt and road grime off it. not a full wash like in the summer but a good hosedown.
As for tires like I said get the michelin's I have had the blizzacks on and they suck. Had them on for one winter and took them off. did not even try to resell them i put a knfe to the sidewall and recycled them. |

I do ride in the winter but only when there is no snow and on warm days. I do not own a z but if you are calm and take it easy you should be fine. Just use common sense. |

Just get a set of cheap 18" wheels and good winter tires from The TireRack and your good to go. Works for me in the Chicago winter. |

I am in Ottawa and I am sure as hell not driving my Z. The main issue is the low clearance. It definitely snows more than the ground clearance several times a year. Getting stuck somewhere is not on my list of things to do. I am just going to buy a cheap beater car for the winter.
