Dsport 2010 RWD car of the year-370z

i picked up this mag yesterday....good read...nissan took AWD class as well....pretty impressive...they also picked the base with sport over the nismo.

They gave a thumbs down to "difficult to gain power with bolt-ons."

I think the Z does pretty good. CBE, HFC, intakes, and tune can easily be 30+ whp.

which is not spectacular for the cost relative to lots of other cars. Plus I think most people see less than 30...

DragSport.com - DSport Magazine - RWD 2011 Review

RWD car of the year is a stretch. Look at the competition. Yes, it's the best RWD of the new Japanese lineup. Open up 'imports' to include Germans and the Z won't fare so well.

I don't understand this logic. It just means that their stock equipment is better (less restrictive) than average. Would they rate it good if nissan put more restrictive breathing on the car so aftermarket parts got you better gains? Just doesn't make any sense if you think about it.

That doesn't matter given that the RX-8 (with a small tank and awful MPGs) will run out of gas halfway through the competition!

hahaha so sad, but so true.

Mazda needs to fix the gas guzzling on that engine and pop out a new RX-7, perhaps with a turbo to start, just so they can compete in that market. I already admire the Miata and MS3 for what they bring in their respective segments. But Mazda needs a fire-breathing beast again.

Coming from and S2000, It surprises me that you say that.
I had way more done to my S and I was getting 15-20hp gain at the wheels. Not to stir the pot. I just felt like their statement was a big off.
