Ok so ive been searching around and figuring out what parts to buy and heres what I got. Anyone who thinks they have better ideas or if you think I should go with a different brand please let me know. Ill rep people with good responses, feel free to rep back

1. Fast Intentions cat back exhaust

2. Fast Intentions resonated test pipes

3. Z1 motorsports 25 row oil cooler

4. Gen 3 Stillen Intake

5. cant really decide between stillen light weight pulley and Non stop tuning 10% reduction pulley


Anyone who has any other ideas instead of what I have on that list let me know! thanks everyone!

Those are the most tried and true bolt on power adder combinations. The best gains for these cars are had with a full exhaust and intake but the real benefit is how it changes the character of the car from a more sedate character to a much sharper and meaner one.

I love my Stillen G3, but those mods you have planned with make the car sound and feel so much better! The only thing I would think about is going with test pipes in addition to the FI cat-back. That will be a very loud combination and you only get a minimal increase of hp between test pipes and high flow cats.

is emissions a worry where you live? might want to look into HFCS instead of test pipes if it is. but other than that solid list.

if you want better replies you might wanna add in what the purpose of the car is. eg. daily driver, weekend tracking, dedicated track. whatever.

right now im stationed in valdosta, GA so there are no emissions around here and theres not as much worry about cop trouble. thats why i opted for the test pipe. my cars purpose is weekend/the occasional ride to work. I do plan on tracking it occasionally but not all that often.

You probably don't need the oil cooler; if you get one make sure it has a thermostat, ideally 200* instead of 180* -- those tend to run too cold in the winter, and then you need to attach a shroud to it to block off some of the rows...

For headers, wait to see how testing for PPE goes -- their prototype made excellent gains, so might as well wait and see. I'll be testing those in a couple of months.

If emissions are not a concern, go for test pipes -- less expensive and better gains. Make sure you get ones with the extra long defoulers to avoid a CEL.

Sounds pretty good. I either have or plan to have all of the mods mentioned above. Only differences are that I have HFC's, and I will probably be going with the 34 Row Oil Cooler. I'm going to get it as part of Z1's track prep package and also get SS brake lines.

As Jordo said, you don't need to bother with an oil cooler unless you are going to track the car.

My car definitely needs an oil cooler. It was hitting 255 yesterday and the speeds never exceeded 75. I could have easily pushed it past 260. Last night it was 63 degrees and I never got over 60, by the time I had done 18 miles I was hitting 245. I was stuck behind a pickup truck the whole way so there was no chance for any WOT.

I would judge your need for an oil cooler by finding a nice twisty back road and exercise the car in 2 ~ 4 and see where your temps go. If you easily hit 240 inside of 5 min or less get the oil cooler.

I just can't see how anyone could be driving safely or responsibly on public roads and have any sort of real oil temperature issues. I've driven fairly hard on public streets, and still never been able to get above 235-240.

Have you thought about springs/coilovers and sway bars? If you are going to be tracking the car they could be of great asset.

Ditto on the handling mods. I've put an H&R rear anti-sway bar on several of my cars, and am thinking of it for the Z, given the understeer I feel.

Great choice of parts. Thats the same set-up I'm going with except I'm doing non-resonated test-pipes, but thats because I wanna wake up my neighbors LOL. O and dont forget the Tune man!!! Got to tune the car after all those goddies to A) Make it run safely and B) Get the most out of all the money your spending. I also plan on getting a Oil Cooler with the Thermostat, I have had my temps over 260 a few times soooo. I would also go with the Stillen Pulley. I have see real gains from Vids on that part. I also dont really like UnderDrive Pullies.

I think you would be better off with HFC's cause you never know where you will get stuck next! Plus you will like the sound better with HFC's over the test pipes. They are raspy and cause cabin drone. Have you looked into Berk? Z1 is really good. They hooked me up with shipping to my APO here in Germany. Ask them for a military discount
