2009 vs 2010?

Cabin filters kick arse. I never owned a car with one until I got my 2002 Infiniti G20, and I will never own another car without one. You know that

You know that "dust" you always have to wipe off the dash every few weeks? yeah. I don't get that anymore in this car. Even after armor-alling it ( usually attracts dust like crazy), it is just shiny. No dust.

Cabin filter FTW!

What EXACTLY was changed '10 vs. '09 to prevent oil consumption?

hmm. so the 09s do NOT have the cabin air filter....

Anyway to have it installed on the 09s with minimal cost/under warranty?

Could someone claim some type of health thing? Like it's hard to breathe etc? (I have no experience with Nissan dealers, but BMW tends to go beyond expectations [at times])

Holliday, when you mention the shift knob.. are you referring to an Auto or a Manual?
I do think the auto shift knob is a bit... plain looking lol.

I've seen some 370z where they put a manual type boot for the Auto

Anyone know more about this?
A dealer in Vegas is selling a used one with it (as well as a Stillen intake). I like that one.. but priced too high for the miles and options..

I wouldn't want yellow, nor do I like black cherry, so not really relative to my case there.

How different are the roadster seats versus the coupe ones?

A dealer told me their 09 coupe HAS vented seats... (it's fully loaded)
Were they lying? (they're too far for me to just go 'check out')

When you mention a better screen... you mean resolution/clarity? Or functionality?
How easy/hard is it to install an aftermarket unit?
I remember it was really easy in my friends 350z

And when you say USB support.. you mean plug a USE drive (say a 16gb one) and have it play music direct from there?

For a 09 with nav, it has a 9gb HDD right? you load music through a USB or through CDs/DVDs? I would assume USB...

Thank you everyone for all your input and help; I like this forum much better than the other ones I've been on (Nagtroc is great too)

There's a thread in the audio section that describes this. They clearly confirmed that this works, i.e. you plug in your USB stick with your MP3 music and the MP3s play from there with the info displayed on the Z's screen. BUT you have to make sure that you format your USB in FAT32 and not NTFS.

I don't think the dealership is telling you the truth when they claim having a coupé with cooled seats, it's clearly only the convertible that has this option. I highly doubt they installed the convertible's seats in the coupé... they sometimes do talk through their arses .

I am referring to the 6MT. I have seen people add shift boots to G35's before (that is what I used to have). I have not seen any 370Z members do this yet but I am sure you can do it with some ingenuity

I see.

Well, am I right that you can use a USB to transfer music onto the built in HDD? on the 09s
I ask because I don't think I'll be getting a 2010

Bare in mind that I don't have my Z yet, I'm getting mine in September/October so I haven't tried first hand but from what I read on the forum you cannot transfer your MP3s from the USB key straight to the Z's HDD box (copyright protection?). You can only rip from CD's ... Also the USB port itself is only available on the 2010 model not the 2009. But if you're asking if you can transfer your music from and Ipod to your Z's HDD, then I believe you can't, this is true of the 2009 or the 2010 model.

Other people can correct me if I'm wrong but that's my understanding from researching the question. All info is available if you use the search option of this forum.

It is easy to install, would cost the same as replacement air filter maintenance on a 2010 or you could do it yourself.

The roadster seats have a cooling unit built into the back of the seat - there was a thread about trying to swap, but I think it was determined too hard. My memory says they are different from the Touring seats in other ways, but I can't find a reference.

The seats are perforated leather, so you could call that vented, but there is no active cooling in the coupe.

I don't believe the functionality is significantly different - I glanced over the 2009 and 2010 Nav manuals, but they got way too boring to compare actual details.

Here's is a review of the 2010, but a lot of the features are in the 2009.
YouTube - 2010 Nissan 370Z Navigation

Here is a list of 2010 enhancements:
Quote:
The new navigation system offers a number of enhancements (versus previous Nissan Navigation System designs), including four times higher screen resolution, wireless music player audio streaming capability (via Bluetooth®), on-board Zagat restaurant ratings database, an in-dash DVD player and XM NavWeather™ weather information display (XM™ subscription required, sold separately).
I forgot the A2DP support for bluetooth streaming audio.

The 2009 and 2010 have the same 9.3GB MusicBox functionality with onboard GraceNote database. Sadly you can only load music by playing regular audio CDs which are then compressed onto the hard drive by the system. MP3 CDs, and other media (CF or USB HD) can not be loaded. I guess Audio DVDs would work as well.

However, if your album is not in GraceNote, you can use a PC and a CF (2009) or USB HD (2010) to transfer album information and load onto your PC. Also, you can manually edit in the car.

Your most welcome

The 2010 upgrades to Nav/Audio were my second biggest concern when getting a 2009 (the oil consumption was first), but as long as the Nissan backup camera can be made to work, I am fine with the features in the 2009. With my eBay 80GB iPod, access to all my music is quick and easy and updating just requires a PC sync. I would like 4x resolution, but I can always use my iPad Nav, and bluetooth streaming would be nice for Pandora/Internet radio, but my city is Edge right now, so I don't use them anyway.

If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, a Scosche PassPort or something similar will charge your device and let you access your music on the 2009 without a problem.

THANK YOU SOO SOO SOOO MUCH

So you said we need to use CDs to transfer music on the HDD
Alright cool.
But then you said use the CF or USB (2010) for the album info?

The backup is only on the 2011s right?
How much do you think it'll cost to have it on a 09 (or a 2010)

Thanks again

GraceNote album info is built in to the MusicBox, but it doesn't contain newer albums, so there is an option to get missing information. Older albums should be recognized.

No idea on the camera cost.

my '09 has heated mirrors, but our models are different then the US ones, so not sure if that comes in or not.

No heated mirrors on US 2009, added to 2010.

I would like to see more than this. Dealerships lie. I want a spec announcement from Nissan or a different part-number or something to back this up. Or maybe NO 2010's using oil reported or something. I dunno, I don't buy things at face value.
