just a general little question
Are you paranoid about how many miles you put on your cars each week
or don't care and drive them whenever and wherever you want to. i hear of people afraid to drive there cars out of fear of putting high mileage on them. what is your opinion. for me i don't care, whats the fun in watching em sit in the garage. i guess if you collect em that's one thing. but once they leave the lot 20% value is gone. what do you save at trade in 1000.00 to 1500.00. i had one guy in the know tell me it want make much of a difference until you get over 75,000 miles anyway........... |
Do not care per say. I have a SC on the car now so I am working on getting a DD so the engine can last as long as possible without needing any internal upgrades.
While it was NA I really did not care, drove to Austin an Dallas from Houston many times and never really worried about the miles. |
this is the first car i have ever owned that i love putting miles on lol

Cars like these are meant to be driven. It's a mass-produced sports car-- you don't need to worry about saving it as a classic or anything. Drive it hard, enjoy it. The difference in miles won't change the value that much, but it will change how much you enjoy the car. |
Drive it hard always. Motor goes build it up. Keep doing that till the day you die. Live happy.
|
having too much fun to worry about the mileage :D life's too short, you work hard for the toys you have, you might as well enjoy them to the max.

I love putting them on but I hate seeing them get higher

only legit reason for putting as few miles on it as possible would be self satisfaction later in life. But... the kicker is that the car will wear out just as fast regardless of miles driven. I often see cars that are 10 years old with 100k on them that run better than ones kept garaged with 20-30k. These modern cars are, for a lack of better terms, cheap, plastic throw away cars not meant to be kept for long periods of time. Thats just the mentality of manufacturers in this era... |
I like to keep mine clean and hate washing cars. So mine stays in the garage next to my G during the week. That's how I play.
I don't care about milage I put on the car. |
I tried to put as few miles on my old 1996 Saab 900 with 36,000 miles on it just because the most unique thing about it was the extreme low mileage. But I put the least amount of miles on the car after I did the most amount of work which meant I did not get to enjoy the car in between constant problems.
Now, I aim to get much more enjoyment with the Z, I drive it where I want or need to go but I still don't put wasteful or useless miles on the car. It is hard to restrain myself sometimes! |
Used to be, then when I hit about 12k I stopped caring.
|
The problem with trying to keep low mileage on any vehicle is that you can be driving through an intersection tomorrow and get totaled. Then you simply have a totaled vehicle with very few miles on it. What have you accomplished?
|
The Z was meant to be driven!! and not a Garage Queen.
Enjoy it. |
I figure if I had paid alot for this car, it minus well be shown. Its not like a limited edition, so go show and tell...
