I have to agree most dealers are honest but they sometimes just get a bad rap.
Mostly with the higher than normal shop charge's. I know they can't carry ever part there is but it seems like you have to take your car in twice to get it repaired. But there are some good guys out there. When i bought my last Z it was the last one on the lot and i was waiting on my refund check to come in anyway they took a post dated check for the down payment and made the deal that day. So that was a happy ending! |

This is not yet a horror story but it potentially can be.
So I got my exhaust and LTH installed. the installer from the shop I now go to had to take some of the stillen G3 off so he had more room to work and discovered that parts of the intake are squized. He guess they tightened the rings too hard crushing the intake pipes. |

I have an 03 G coupe full bolt ons other than FI.. Wheels, suspension whole bunch of upgrades.. The works..
The G is getting old so I start shopping for an HR 350z.. I look around and see nothing but over priced CRAP! Like seriously for a few thousand more I can get into a base 370z / sport package. So I call Midway Nissan and ask why in the world are they asking $26K for an 08 350z base model.. The salesman Paulo immediately says "don't worry about the price" I say ok and we chit chat for a few more seconds and hang up.. The next day I am no longer interested in a 350.. The interior just doesn't do it for me anymore and a whole lot of stuff.. So a few days later Paulo calls me again and asks me about the 350 and if I still want to see it. I tell him I'd rather have a 370z. I told him straight up over the phone I owe money on my car still so he needs to pay that off and add whatevers left to the Z, I am NOT buying the 370z that day we are only doing numbers and I am NOT doing any credit checks.. He OK's everything and were set. So yesterday I head out there after work. I get there at 6PM like we scheduled and I see Mr. Paulo in a maxima trying to sell that car to someone else who just walked it so he says Joe will help you.. Joe takes me inside and transfers me to Cody. Cody won't even shake my hand or look me in the eye when talking. Then he decides he doesn't want to deal with me and transfers me to Patrick.. (Mind you every transfer took at least 5 minutes). Finally patrick (ganstered out with gold teeth and all) talks to me and is actually pretty nice.. I tell him I want a 370z then he starts pulling out credit apps and crap.. I tell him "no no no". I told him that Paulo and I over the phone specifically said NO credit checks, and NO buying today. Just numbers, you will give me top dollar for my car and the Z for invoice. He says "ok lets look at your car" we come out and checks everything.. Mileage and all. Starts complementing my car and asks me why I'm parting out.. I told him I'd be able to get at least $4K cash back out of those and it wouldn't hurt the cars value.. He replies "hell nah, your car is worth way more modified like that".. Whatever. So we walk inside, he gives the appraisal to his manager or whoever is in there. After about 5 minutes he comes out and tells me "sorry, were not doing any business with you unless you buy today right now" I said sorry thats not what I agreed to over the phone.. I am still doing my shopping. I am 21 and I even told him I don't even want a test drive. I'm just doing numbers and I can very easily afford a 370z.. My mom has very good credit and I have decent credit so I will be cosigning. My brother and I own a restaurant and make good money. He still says "nope, sorry man" gotta buy today. So I walk out and look in there lot by myself and they only had 5 370z's.. 3 roadsters which I don't want, a Nismo which I don't want, and fully loaded touring models nearing $50K!!!!!! They never took me serious in there and I am not going back.. Not really a horror story, but just really annoying that I wasted my time, didn't get what we agreed on the phone with and drove 40 min.. I never even got to play with numbers.. Sorry for the long post.. |
