WOW way too much weight deletions. It won't be possible w/o taking out the a/c unit and every other luxury items. But another 100 to 200 lbs and add about 30 more hp and more TQ. The weight part seems to me to be more realistic. Oh and get rid of the bulky A** door handle and add led lighting on the front head lights.

I know exactly what I want, and with all the information I have already gained, I know what to do right away, just trying to find out also if there is no coming in that meets my needs.

dreamer I got mine at invoice and they didn't even have the car on the lot. I used edmunds.com for my research. good luck.

Delete? I'll delete 2000 lbs from the Z. FTW :D

I hope you're joking. That would be like driving a 330HP Kleenex box or essentially an Ariel Atom

i think 200lbs is reasonable....it could be done. then add a funtional intake and exhaust with cat delete ( where legal).

that should bump it to 350 crank....and it would weigh what? 3100 ...3078

With a presnt 0-60 of 4.7 and 13.3 1/4 you find it right at 13 flat maybe even 12.9 and likely an amazing 4.5 0-60....

yeah it would cost more....you'd have to use CF peices to get the weight down. I don't see anything over 300lbs weight loss without getting into real major changes.

they should offer a factory S/C.....but it would interfere with the GTR sales.
the Z is already more car than the GTR inside group imagined.

And there is an internal fued between the Z guys and the GTR guys. i think i read it on this forum...or in a magazine....

And its a big fued. You put TT on the Z and you have a rwd GTR. almost.

braking and handling wouldn't be affected.. and the Z is right up there with top dogs in that respect.....making it the seriously fun car it is.

10k TT factory upgrade.. I'd pay 42,500 for that.

No butthole, black fangs, 19x9.5F, 19x10.5R wheels

The LCD dots for fuel and temp is lame, but it works fine, and I have no problem seeing mine in bright light. The addition of cross-drilled rotors would be a nice addition too.

What he said, plus: Replace the clock with an oil pressure gauge (have the radio display the clock), add an air conditioned drivers seat (or even both seats, individually controlled), and provide the rear fog lamp to US-delivered cars.

Mostly minor gripes but her they are...

1) replace weird water/fuel gauge thingy w/analog (obvious)
2) delete or make rear fog active
3) option to delete spoiler on sport package
4) some kind of LED DRLs would be a nice touch
5) make door handle touch sensitive for opening instead of using little button (like every other smart key car Ive owned)
6) reduce some engine/transmission NVH
7) make homelink, bluetooth, nav etc stand alone options (my perfect Z is not possible now...base + sport + 6spd + bluetooth + homelink)

Now the wish list, maybe for refresh 2-3yrs down the road...

1) stripped down, cheaper version of GTR dual clutch!!!! please!!!
2) direction injection for a few more ponies, better emissions/+mpg
3) new front bumper w/o fangs and larger inlet (handy for those going FI:tup:)
4) back-up camera!!!

fly yellow 06-03-2009 06:56 PM

1.)Add the back up camera with the nav package. It isn't a huge deal. I have been driving 21 years without a backup camera, but it isn't difficult to do either.

2.) Put the Infiniti G37s driver's seat with memory in with the touring package. Those seats are 15 way adjustable and much better for "inspired" driving.

3) Illuminated kickplates should be standard with the touring package. The standard ones are cheap.

4) Stitch a "Z" on the back of the seats

5) do away with the black hole on American spec vehicles.

Overall, a stripped down barely street legal version of the z, with nissan motorsports parts, roll cage, racing seats and optional factory supercharger for under $50K... kind of like a 911 cup car but for the weekend racer on a tighter budget

Details... more accurate gauges... an oil pressure gauge... an OEM version of Traqmate... AND A FACTORY OIL COOLER :)

37Z 06-25-2009 08:04 PM

New Spec 370Z Wish List

  • Rear diffusor (one that is actually aerodynamically efficient)
  • Oil cooler with oil pressure gauge in the third center gauge stack (ie. replaces the redunant clock)
  • HU & speaker delete option at purchase
  • Lighter (5-point harness) seats
[/LIST]

The hood is just begging for vents, and with the possible engine heat issues couldn't hurt. Maybe not as obvious as the Viper's, but seven and seven tastefully done, might look right, and be functional as well.

frost 06-25-2009 09:54 PM

^ begging for struts too. I mean, come on, no hood struts?

cave vulture 06-25-2009 11:03 PM

If Nissan is listening, retooling the hood with some louvers, would at least seem like a step in the right direction towards addressing some of the engine heat issues.
