I just averaged about 28mpg on my drive to San Diego going about 70mph with my 6mt 370z. I get close to 20mpg around town but it is really pretty difficult with all the traffic and lights so I get closer to 17mpg in town.
But I didn't buy this car to save gas!

I never saw above 16 mpg unless I was on the highway. Even then, I was lucky to see 21 mpg.
If you're getting 20+ mpg around in the city, you should have bought a Buick instead, because you're certainly not getting any use out of the Z.

If you want to see real data, check out Fuelly:
Browse All Nissan 370Zs | Fuelly Its a website where you can key in your fill ups and it runs the stats for you. The cool thing is though, you can browse all of the cars and motorcycles on the site. Mine doesn't show up yet in the general list because I only have two fillups in the Z thus far: http://www.fuelly.com/driver/lesspeoplemorerobots

cool site whiplash thx for that. I can never run 65-69 on the highway lol its gotta be at least 80 and above that probably explains the low gas mileage :P and a couple speeding tickets haha
I average around 24mpg highway driving from FL up to GA and thats not bad at all in retrospect and around 20.9 city with stop and go traffic |

I never let a minivan beat me to the next stoplight , but I don't floor it or anything. I get just a tick under 20 mpg in my mixed city/highway driving. I'm at about 2900 miles so far.

Gas mileage?! Am I supposed to care about that? I have a Mazda (sans Miata doors) for that.

Just going to throw some actual highway mileage data out there.
Mileage from San Francisco to Reno, NV (mostly uphill!) - 29.3 mpg @ 71 mph average Mileage from Reno, NV to Wendover, NV/UT (lots of mountain passes, high altitude 6000-7000 ft) - 27.6 mpg @ 76 mph average. Measured at the pump. Not too shabby for a 332 bhp sports car! And well above the EPA estimated fuel econ.
