I'm having a wee bit of trouble getting used to the synchorev, which I was so excited about.

I take it you cannot delay putting the car into the next gear or it goes crazy. I've got it (almost) handled on the upshift, which was never calling for a delay, but can't get the hang yet of the downshift. I think it's a holdover habit from previous driving and trying to avoid what the upshift now takes care off -- getting that huge rev out of the engine. Maybe it just takes a little time and practice.
We do have identical cars only you got the red I truly wanted, but was afraid to get, because of the added visibility to the police.
RE: SRM. Leaving the dealership I too remember trying to sync the engine only to have the SRM do the same thing. You will get the hang of it so do not worry. If you really can not stand it, push and hold the button right and above stick shift for about one second to turn it off. You know that it is off when the S that looks like a five, next to digital gear read out, goes out. I remember thinking, again leaving dealership with my new car, I bought a six speed but the salesman must have sold me a five speed because of that S that looks like a five.
Congratulations. You are going to love this car.

Is that an order? ~crisp salute~

Put on 300 miles yesterday, washed it yesterday, loved it even before I got it.

I'm happy today. And I'm off to beautiful northern Minnesota for the long weekend. See y'all next week. I'll get some pictures taken then. I gotta dash now.

Yep, I'm going to have to practice. Whoa is me -- NOT!

I figured that "S" was for the synchorev. Once I get the hang of it, it will be great. I was used to putting in the clutch on the way to a stop sign from third or fourth and *maybe* going through second on the way to a stop. I take it that's a no-no now.

Practice, practice, practice.

I'm really outta here now to the lake. Have a terrific weekend.

Mitz

I drive an automatic , but I would think you would hold the clutch in while slowing down and shift into first after you stop?

Here's some threads on others that skip on downshifts:

Mitz
If you are not going to run through the gears downshifting, like I do, then put it into Neutral and clutch out to avoid SRM engine revving.

Off topic: I bought and applied Klasse acrylic 3 in 1 to my car and it looks good and cleans easily, especially bugs, even tree sap. My buddy and I then applied it to his laser red Mustang. I am jealous. It looks so good on red, I hope you try it, or something similar.

Although you can hold in the clutch and coast to a stop, you lose the braking force of your transmission. If you downshift and hold the clutch in, the SRM will rev suddenly. The car is assuming you wanted to go into gear sooner rather than later. This is unique to 370Z's.
