I looked at a used 260Z back in the 80's when I was in my twenties and foolish but I didn't have the money for the car and an education; I chose to invest in the latter. Twenty-five years later, I found myself with no debt and some cash, and still foolish enough to want the car. Many people told me that I was too old for the car and that it wasn't 'practical' but I did it anyway.

Got the manual because all of my cars and motorcycles are manuals...it's awesome (SRM is very good). Raw but as much fun as I expected all those years ago. Added the sport package because it looks 100% better IMO and the NAV just 'cause.

We all know life is a short ride - might as well make it a fun one too.

Sometimes you have to just show up in person. But yeah, that's lousy of them.

Congrats on the new (used) Z! I hope you got a great deal.

I think you'll appreciate the Touring upgrades, especially if you do a lot of driving.

I like the way you think. Hopefully, we'll meet soon at a Z gathering.

Wings and Wheels in Osceola, WI is coming up on Sept 11th. If you need details, let me know. The group meets at a Perkins off I-35 and Co Rd D or E up north of Roseville. We take the back way into Osceola.

Is that an order? ~crisp salute~

Put on 300 miles yesterday, washed it yesterday, loved it even before I got it.

I'm happy today. And I'm off to beautiful northern Minnesota for the long weekend. See y'all next week. I'll get some pictures taken then. I gotta dash now.

I feel like it was a good deal, since it was very, very close to new, has all the bells and whistles, has the lighted Z on the base when you open the door, has the floor mats, the carpeted trunk, every option possible with the touring and nav. He even put a European fog light in the back, below the back bumper, that I have to try to get hooked up. They don't yet make a connection for it.

$30,000.

The sticker said $40,695 (I'm sure he didn't pay sticker) and it's got less than 5,000 miles on it. So a 25% cut off sticker was, I felt, a good price.

It is pristine.

He threw in a car cover and a sunshade for the windshield.

I drive an automatic , but I would think you would hold the clutch in while slowing down and shift into first after you stop?

Here's some threads on others that skip on downshifts:
Skip a gear?

Although you can hold in the clutch and coast to a stop, you lose the braking force of your transmission. If you downshift and hold the clutch in, the SRM will rev suddenly. The car is assuming you wanted to go into gear sooner rather than later. This is unique to 370Z's.
