I see about 2 every day on post where I work and about once a week in the city. They are getting to abe a common scene but not real common like the 350z or stang or even camero now.

It's unlikely they will ever be as popular as the 350 simply because the production numbers are so low, but they sure are starting to make their way out of the woodwork around here. I keep seeing more and more every day, often with temporary tags.

And alot of them are on post, soldiers are getting paid well today. But El Paso also has 13 GTRs running around too so there are some well to do people here by the border. I wonder why?

I live in a well to do area of the SF bay area with a population of 25 K. Here BMW's are as common as a Ford Focus. Ferrarri has a dealership in town, as does Porsche so seeing them is a daily sight. I do see a 370 here and there most every day, even a GTR, but still relatively few.
It is the Mustang that is everywhere usually holding up traffic on the windy roads. Charger/Challengers and Cameros are all over the place too. I attribute this additional abundance of these cars to rentals. I made up this answer but they drive and dress as tourists.

They are just popular. If you see a 350 heading the other way down the highway you only have to wait about 30 seconds before you see another one.

People are hung up on needing AWD and 4WD cars here because of our winters, so you really don't see many RWD sport coupes around. Most G35's here are G35X models, and BMW's are almost all X-drives.
I've seen maybe 3 other 370Z's in the state, none of which looked modified at all. Odd because all of the Nissan dealers have them in stock, and they seem to move through their inventories at a decent rate. They must be purchased as garage queens for some of the semi-wealthy retirees in Park City and whatnot. The AWD thing is funny... I don't think any drivetrain configuration or differential combination could save Utah drivers from their own idiocy.

But talking about crossovers and SUV's with AWD... absolutely worthless. Not a damn thing you can do to make a 6000 lb vehicle handle well, especially in the snow/ice.
