Does turning off VDC disable ABS?

No, the ABS didn't turn off when VDC was disabled...Perhaps - due to the radical manuever, your car was sliding sideways more than rolling forward and the computer didn't sense

No, the ABS didn't turn off when VDC was disabled...Perhaps - due to the radical manuever, your car was sliding sideways more than rolling forward and the computer didn't sense the need to pulse... Funny thing about VDC it doesn't due a thing for a car that is out of control because of the law of physics... Anymore than 4 wheel drive does for helping a car stop on an icy road... VDC assists when the engine is revving, but that there is a difference in the rate of spin between the two rear tires.. VDC Logic slow the motor down till the rate between the two tires are within parameters. VDC and ABS is totally unrelated.. One is "Go logic" the other is stop logic... However, There is a relay that monitors wheel spin when tranny is engaged, high RPM is present, but the brake is fully engaged... Meaning you cannot Brake Torque a Z... If you pull the relay - the tail lights don't work and the ABS is disengaged - defeating all Brake Logic.

Hmmm Sounds like Nissan tied everything together for safety. Who'd of thunk it?
