Really? was it that easy!
Im new to the 370's and the japanese sports car deal so bear with me.
Went for a midnight stroll in my new nismo and the oil temp went over 280 in just a matter of 15 minutes or so. I was mashing it a little but should this happen that soon. Southeast, US. outside temp at 78. Will be doing a DIY oil cooler setup so how big of an oil cooler should i use. Fabrication brackets and other modifications to install are not an issue. Thanks for your input!! |

I love this car and dont mean to bitch but whats with the oil temps and why is the paint so poor. The paint jobs on these 38 Grand $ rides suck for the money. Im going in for paint warrenty work tomorrow. DRIVING MINE LIKE I STOLE IT!! (The NISMO'S do float in the turns if you drive them hard enough though)!!

Thankee. The nismo floating may keep me on the road and not the ditch. LOl!! Its so easy to drive hard in and power out of the turns. The middle of the turn gets me in question with these. FUN cars thats for sure.

I've driven very hard in temperatures above 105 outside, and I've yet to see 230+ with no oil cooler installed.
One day, I had to make about 20 stops in a single afternoon, and I'm sure my engine was hating me with all the stops, traffic lights, and 6k+ RPMs it saw, but it responded well and *almost* hit 230. /shrug

it kind of seems like every z is different tho because i have heard of many ppl not having any high temps and then other having crazy high temps like urs...i had to even had my engine replaced at 23k because the engine was consuming too much oil so i think that with this engine some people just get lucky and others dont...kinda sucks

OP, your Z really did get hot and it did it pretty quickly. And also didymus is right about the spring spacers. Alot of the dealers have forgotten to, or did not know to remove them
