So I built a 370Z Model...
Never done one of these before, so I know that somebody with experience could make a much better looking one, but here's some pics. Has anybody else built one of these? I'd like to see what a really well built one looks like. Oh, and hai, I'm new

Welcome. Kit looks cool. Who makes it? Glad you sprung for the sport package on the model ... is it touring too?

I used to be pretty big into scale model building. I still have all of my supplies and a few unfinished kits in my basement.
In the last year or so of my time in the hobby I really got into scratch building to enhance realism. Anything from wiring to genuine leather upholstery (hard as **** to do on a 1/24 scale!). I actually have been thinking about getting back into it because it's pretty calming when you've got a couple hours of free time. The thing I don't like about that model kit you did is it's a curbside kit... I hate those ones! My favorite part of model building is assembling the chassis and engine!!!

I never invested in an airbrush. It's hard to really get that "brand new" look with a regular brush, so to compensate I tended to build "weathered" models. Will see if I can dig up a pic or two...

Gotta love Tamiya! I am working on mine too right now. Excellent detail. Comes with optional parts for front spoiler, rear spoiler, rear wipers, left or right hand drive dash and cowl/wiper assembly, as well as 370 or Fairlady decals. Going to paint mine in 40th anniv colours as that what I have . The Tamiya kits and paints are a bit more expensive but the quality and fit and finish are awesome.

Ya I used to build WWII Aircraft and armor, so I'm pretty familiar weathering them. Crush up pastels and 'paint' the dust onto the model, spinkle some like mineral spirts on there get some good looking runs and what not. Some came out halfway decent, others came out like crap. But the crappy ones I could always destroy and make a blown up tank or crashed plane.
