Paint Sealant

The dealership where I bought my red '09 Z sent me a "Paint Sealant Renewal Card" in the mail. It has 6 free paint renewals on it and says the process should be done every six months. Trouble is the dealership is 50 miles away. Are any of you Forum members familiar with this? Is it something all dealerships do or is it a ploy to get me in for service work? What do you think; worth the drive or am I better off doing the work myself? Thanks for your insight.

Doesn't sound right or sounds too good to be true. Most dealers aren't exactly skilled at getting a flawless finish. I would just look into Meguire's or Adam's Polishes and do it yourself.

^^ +1 skip it. they will only add more swirls for you to polish out.

don't let a dealer touch your paint of all things. Its nothing magical. Its pain sealant. Like wolfgang's synthetic polymer stuff. It works great, but you can do it yourself, you don't need to let them ruin your car.

I've spent waaaaaaay too many hours detailing out dealer installed swirl marks and buffer trails to ever let a dealer touch my car. I've found that even detail shops don't normally do what you need to do to get a flawless finish so unless you know the person doing it and know they do excellent work, I would follow some of the instructions given on this site and do it yourself.
