it's simple. normal people call it zed. americans call it zee. case closed. lol.
seriously, both are correct historically, though zed is more standard, more true to the origin of the letter, and in a way, more correct. but leave it to americans to insist on using a more obscure pronunciation to feel more "unique"

Calling the 370 "Z"; "Zed" seems very strange / unnatural to me. Why make it more complicated by putting the “ed” like Eddy at the end with it? The letter “Z” in the alphabet seems most logical. “Z” is “Z”. If I went around calling a 370 "Z" a 370 "Zed" people would look at me like on crack cocaine. If you want to make things more complicated it's your choice I suppose.
