Teflon tape or white Teflon sealant (paste) will work. These only go on the NPT-type (tapered) threads and never on AN fittings. And to add to the above 1/2-3/4 turn

Teflon tape or white Teflon sealant (paste) will work. These only go on the NPT-type (tapered) threads and never on AN fittings.
And to add to the above 1/2-3/4 turn past hand-tight is enough to seal an AN fitting. 2-3 turns after hand tight for the tapered NPT threads.
