Wow, most of you would have ran from mine. I had over 300 miles on it. Mine was brought in for another guy who ended up not going through with the deal. It was also test driven by a lot of folks who had no intention on buying the car. I haven't noticed any problems, and I put that many miles on a car in about 4 days.
Most of the guys that DX cars for dealers are retirees. They are not 17 year old kids. Dealerships aren't going to pay for that kind of insurance. I used to own a detail shop when I was 19, and I couldn't get contracts with car dealers because of my age and insurance. |

Yeah, mine had 114 miles on it. I asked if it was a dealer trade and they said no. I didn't really pursue it as my options were extremely limited (it was take that car or put in an order to Nissan) and I lacked the patience to place an order. But there just weren't any Monterey Blue touring models with sport and navigation packages that came in 6MT around. All in all, it doesn't really bother me. I punched it a few times before 1,000 miles so I doubt anyone did much worse with my car before I bought it. I guess I'd be more worried about someone grinding the clutch repeatedly but it, too, seems fine.

Mine Had 18 on it when I bought it

My first post here, sorry for no introduction but this is a very compelling question posed here.
The dealer has a "Loaded" and I mean loaded advertised as a "Show Car" with 1900 miles. sticker is ~41,500, reduced to 37,995. Seems like a pretty good deal, but with everything said should I be leery? Thanks in advance. Wayne |
^ it's not really a deal since no one is paying sticker anyway. Most people seem to be paying $500 over invoice.
|
That is an okay deal on a brand new car, but with 1900 miles that car had to be a demo, or it's lightly used. I wouldn't pay anymore than 37,000 for it if it was a demo. If it has actually been titled before I would look at 35,000.

first 2 dealers were complete jackasses, but the third dealer's the charm, in and out in under an hour with everything planned and priced out :happydance: |
Mine had 48 miles on it.

Easily put on a couple miles driving it from the factory to the parking spot, then from the parking spot to the truck, then off the truck to the loading doc parking, from the loading doc to the container, from the container to the loading doc parking, from the loading doc parking to the truck, from the truck to the distribution center parking, from there to another truck, to the dealership. Easy to accumulate a few miles. That said, mine had 51 miles on the ODO when I got in to test drive it. I didn't pre-order it. |

More, since it's "not new, just sold as new"... |
Had 7 once it was offloaded at the dealership.

5 when it arrived at the dealer, 8 when I took it of the lot.

Just because your car has low miles doesn't always mean it's really that low, I've talked to a BMW tech, who tested BMW's. They would grab a random BMW off the boat to test it, testing everything on the car. Then they would reset the Odometer to 0 before driving it back to the track and send it to a dealer.
I don't know if they do it on nissans thou |
Mine had 9...
|
19.2 miles. Meh...close enough.

My brand new 07 350z HR had 12 miles at pick up.

More than I wanted
I was driving home to Salt Lake from Walla Walla Washington. I was half way there when I picked up my phone. On my voicemail was a message suggesting my new Z was waiting. I stopped in and checked it out: Gorgeous. I started it up and found 30 miles on it?! I waited 10 weeks to find that the pesky thing had 30 miles on it? What's with that? I thought it should have been far less than that? The dealer said he's never seen one with less than 15? I also found a half inch scratch down to the metal on the left rear fender? Now I'm deflated and wondering what others miles have been? I haven't picked it up and trying to decide on my next course of action?
|
9 miles, make them fix it. The z is brand new, it should leave that way.Bitch, bitch and make them fix it. Good luck. I think there was a thread awhile back concerning the miles
|
Well, mine had over 300 miles on it. It was DXed from another dealership for a guy that backed out of the deal. I'm not a very anal person, so i was cool with it. I doubled that mileage in just a couple days.
|
mine had 7 miles when I got it. Took it for one test drive before signing and added another 7 bringing it to 14 miles. Dealer swore up and down the car was never test driven by anyone except me.
Had to drive it about 500 miles home in one day. Pretty much couldn't follow the recommended break in procedure the whole way but I follow it to a T now. I'm at 980 miles and can't wait to hit 1200 miles so I can go WOT!!!!! |
mine should have 0, i'll know tomorrow.
|
How many miles?
Mine had 90 when I bought it 12 of those were mine when I test drove it.

I think I had 27'ish.

Guys,
It's very, very normal for a "new" car to have some mileage on it. Every car coming off the line is driven around a test course to check for things like squeaks, rattles, etc. as well as many the function of many of the options...the factory tries to catch such problems before shipment. Some cars get picked form more testing. Mileage will vary but in the overwhelming majority of cases, any mileage you see is likely to be "factory/shipping" mileage and not just someone out joy riding. :) |
80 miles on mine.
|
Mine had 8 when I took it for a test drive. After the test drive, I bought it and drove it home. Haven't stopped grinning since then.:driving:

That was just a wee bit high for me, so it was used as a negotiating point. |
How many miles on did your Z have when you took delivery?
Sorry if this has been posted here before as Im still kinda new on this forum.
Just wondering how miles your Z had on it when you took delivery? Ours had 61 and it had been sitting on the lot since 8-2010. I normally wouldn't buy a car with more than say 10 or so miles on it, but I got what I thought was a very good deal. (Base 2010Z, Auto, Tinted windows,Floor Mats, Rear carpet mat, 28k) Now I can't help but wonder how this vehicle was driven for those 61 miles. I am going to follow the 1200 mile break in as per the nissan manual, but can't help but think this vehicle is already well broke in. I really do hope that no yahoo or some jack *** at the dealer ragged on our new Z. I did by accident go to around 4200rpm. (Was in paddle shift mode and not sure at the time how to go to 2nd) |
My Z was at 4 miles when I took delivery.
|
14 for me
|
heh 7600 miles. Barely enough mileage for an oil change. I know it's not new off the lot, but it's new to me and still from a Nissan lot.:tiphat:
|
31 on the odometer when i picked it up..
