I found a scale and weighed my car

So, I was able to weigh my Z at this recycle plant near my work place. Here are the pics:

Hopefully you can see the weight on the side of the building...

3300

List the specs of your car (Year, touring/base, sport, etc.), also how much gas do you estimate was it in?
It looks like it says 3300.

Red370 07-21-2010 10:36 AM

not bad at all, the SP is a bit heavier than the base because of the LSD, and I believe the wheels are about 1 lb. heavier.

TongMan 07-21-2010 10:38 AM

Yes it weighs 3300 lbs. I have a 2010 Base w/ Sport Package. I have a quarter tank of gas when I weighed it. I also have my gear inside the car, which adds to the weight. When I am in the car, the weight changes to 3500, which is pretty accurate, as I weigh 200 lbs.

Factory specs are pretty accurate then:

Sports Package with Manual Transmission: 3,278 lb

Your gas should have weighed about 30 lb at a quarter tank, and your stuff however much. Factory spec may include a half tank of gas or something; I can't remember how "curb weight" ratings work.

did you have the spare tire and tools in the car?

TongMan 07-21-2010 11:12 AM

yes everything that came with the car is in the car plus some of my things.

GZ3 07-21-2010 11:14 AM

wow thats actually not bad! I know the spare tire and tools weigh in at 43lbs

Tools/Spare/Passenger seat, 86 lbs saved, I found that out when I ran at the drags about 4 months ago.

TongMan 07-21-2010 11:22 AM

I'm gonna weigh my car again after I take the spare/tools/my crap out of the car and fill it up with a full tank.
