Very interesting comment in there. I was noticing more whirring noise after installing an oil cooler. Looks like they heard it too. Not sure it's related to engine oil though.

I like criticism number one :

I can't even believe the stupity of that statement. If it had been say, a Porsche Carrera with that BS excuse for a back seat, then I could understand that argument but with the 370?? I mean shiit, do they make that same compliant with a Ferrari F430?

I dont get it. I never hear complaining about the S2K's cargo space. Or the cargo space in Vetts or any other exotic car. Who cares about the cargo space, its a SPORTS CAR. And what does this mean "its character in the upper half of its rpm range" there basically saying the engine is ageing.

Honestly, their point about the noticeable change in engine noise sans Ester special sauce is the only valuable comment.

Both the editor and person who wrote this article should be fired.

LIKE REALLY???? People are not buying this car for its "space", and they are aware of this when purchasing the car.

Second-I am sick and tired of reading articles about sports car (370z, BMW M3, Z4, etc) where the majority of the articles focus on noise. Its a sports car, its not a four door Lexus or Mercedes Benz where cabin noise and comfort are top priority. The people buying these cars are buying them for other reasons, which apparently ARE NOT OBVIOUS to Road and Track.

Lastly, I want to focus on this quote "The source of the Z’s strength is also unfortunately its weakness. The VQ37VHR engine feels like it’s reached the limits of its evolution, largely due to its character in the upper half of its rpm range but also because of its propensity for heat generation"-----Get a grip Road and Track.....Name another car for that price range where you get something like the VQ37VHR engine. THe BMW 3 series put Turbos in their engines and they are still not as good as the Z.

The fact of the matter is Road and Track failed with this long term road test. They neglected to outline any of the important long term aspects that we are all interested in learning about. I will not be reading anymore long term reviews from Road and Track. I would rather make my own presumptions than read an article that points out thee obvious and has no relevant points to list.

And I'm very pleased by the amount of cargo space in our Z. Trumps my Evo X by 2 fold at least. THAT car has pathetic cargo space for what it is.

What does any of this have to do with long-term?

Perhaps the reviewer drives a Prius at under 5 MPH, and is not used to sounds caused by road/engine/tires/exhaust/conversation/music/small birds/harmonicas etc.

Road noise is kind of an issue with the 370Z for anybody who wants a luxury car (read: poser retards). But, it is louder on the inside than my Evo X, for example, which is a hopped up Chinese takeout box. So I guess one could say road noise is kind of apparent in the Z.
