Spark Plugs
Has anyone had any expierence with Pulsar Spark Plugs?....thanks
|
I've yet to see any aftermarket plug actually make a difference on the dyno. Stick with OEM.

They have merit in theory for cars with crappy old-school ignition systems, but the best bet for our coil-on-plug (COP) direct ignition system is the stock or equivalent plugs. End of story. You'll never make any more power within the 370Z ignition system unless you're pushing over a bar of boost.

Spark plugs aren't something to gamble on - if one has a structural defect and falls apart, you can kiss that cylinder and possibly other cylinders that suck debris in goodbye. |

I just saw a review on the Speed Channel that proved the spark of those E3 spark plugs does indeed produce a quicker and cleaner burn. Does anyone have any experience with that brand? Lastly, I am assuming since the E3.68 works for the VQ35 DE motors that same spark plug could be used for our VQ37... no?

OEM plugs seem to all be Iridium 5mm or something similar. Just stick with that. I ran OEM plugs in my WS6 (which was Iridium Finewire) and pulled one at 80K or so. It gapped out EXACTLY the same as OEM spec. I ran those OEM plugs until 149K when I sold the car, and it was still dead-even with the new SS's and the old C5 'vettes, etc. Never suffered a bit from it. Knocked down 27.5mpg on the highway doing 80.
Unless you are going FI, I would leave the OEM plugs in there for AT LEAST! 50K, and that's just if you're wierd and like blowing $10-15 a plug to replace them early for no good reason. |
