To you guys ride your trannys hard? I know I like to start of gentle and then smack it around a little bit

You would probably be a lot happier with a car with more low / mid range torque like a BMW 335i or Audi S4. The cars feel fast even at 2000rpms and you won't have to rev the engine to the moon to get moving and feel the rush.

this is true. the 370z is lacking in torque..

but it makes up for it everywhere else!!

well seems like u had ur answer in ur head all along. no need to post a thread and then reject all the ideas. through you we shall see how well the Z engine is built.

As you said you dont want to harm your engine then shift it to 6th
Or just stay on 3rd whole time and say good bye to the engine in couple month(maybe even less)

Oh dont forget about oil temp
Evenwith cruise on "6th" gear gets high temp
And redlining allday will get even more oil temp and practically same as running with out oil(you know what this means)

What you should do is always drive in reverse. Not only this would keep the car's RPM pretty high (on the highway), it would add a whole new dimension of excitement.

Just make sure the VDC is on and you are good to go buddy!

hahaha yea i agree drive it in reverse....it changes the game up and gives u a new thrill....best of luck to u and please dont drive in southern california

thats pretty much how i drive trust me its better this way.
Its a sports car, drive it the way it was ment to be driven.
It wont blow up or anything, the redline is there for a reason.
